One of the main reasons why Server 2 did not have many players is because of the textures. These maps requires CSS textures and most of the staff were lazy and did not care to explain people, or even link them a guide to download them. This annoyed me because players won't play without textures, when everything is purple.
I believe it would help with a guide to download them when you join the server and/or to have a pop up in the chat or on the screen saying something like missing textures? Just follow this guide and then a link.
I do think the textures were part of the problem but even if it had staff that were willing to help or a guide on how to fix the missing textures i still don't think server 2 would have been anymore popular. This is simply because before i got the CSS textures if a server required them i would just leave and join server that did not. Servers without the CSS textures will be more played as people will go there rather than putting in the extra effort to fix their textures.
well can't we have a server message that gives them a video link made by one of our staff members?
EG If you have missing textures goto this link
and this should only come up to those joining in for the first time or it could be the welcome message
My point was even if given the information how many players would be bothered to fix the textures over just joining another server.
I think Miia is saying that:
1. It's natural for players to not go to a broken server where they have to fix something rather than going to a fully working one.
2. Even if you do provide a fix, why should someone actually stay and fix it rather than moving on to another.
What Miia isn't saying is that:
It's neither good or bad, the idea of S2. She's just saying that there will naturally be less people there.
S2 would be the best thing ever in terms of longevity of the gamemode for playerbase, long-term players and especially staff. S1 would be great in order to keep the numbers high, which is sadly, the biggest priority that is achieved at ALL OTHER COSTS in the community, risking the fact of low longevity of staff and playerbase, poor quality in playerbase and experience, etc.
That's what S2 would fix. However, there would have to be a system in place that would mean that Staff are expected to also have a minimum requirement of activity in S1, or make S2 a completely individual entity and unrelated to S2 - Different management, different staff, etc. People would have to apply for S2 staff, under a different manager, aka me, lowkey, but a revised AND ACTUALLY THOUGHTFUL system would have to be inplace. Not some quick 2 minute shit that the community is known to show, with loose ends, garbage policies and terrible systems in place.
