Ok, so selling gems does not necessarily add more money to the economy. It is just condensing money onto the seller. That money already existed before the gems were sold. Someone has to have the money to but those gems that may have been gotten from various other means.

The money generated from the wheel/slots is where the actual money is generated, as that money did not exist before. (I am not suggesting ending updates with slots or the wheel as I personally find it fun)

TL;DR- Gem mining is not breaking the economy as it generates no money on its own, it just condenses it.
