TOPIC: [SSRP] Old School

Any of you guys know Runescape? Remember the 'Old School' version? the 317? Yes, thsoe were great times, no OP addons, wildy was there, remember when it was removed etc.? That's when a lot of people stopped playing and lose interest.
They've brought it back and look at it now! Loads and loads of people play again due to the nostalgic feel and touch to it.

I think this will do well for ZARP as well! Without the OP weapons, huge unraidable bases, this will bring the fun back to it again!
Raiding with a pistol would be considered even haha.
Only the RPG was there and the milkor and Orb if I'm correct.
And lol, no, you couldn't buy those weapons very easy, neither made a lot of money real quick, so a strong economy would be good imo.
Not allowing alts to place down extra parts of a base, remember evil melon? Damn, good times, good times..
Maybe not making the special weapons OP would work..
I can't remember there were such thigns as booster packs either, but to disable those, hmm, I guess that'd be fine due to the inventory space and we all want to have 20 m4a1s, 15 colt pythons, 20 psg1s in our inventory, I do not disagree with that!
I am pretty sure a lot of people can find me in this, please comment your thoughts and ideas!

Suggestion Title: A old school SSRP server

How would it benefit the server: MAke it fun, better, good basing, good to raid.

Potential Issues/Exploits: Not sure, tell in here if you guys think of any!

We've already had a suggestion for this, I don't think people understand that the lack of basing isn't just about the special weapons but rather about how the players have changed and no-longer find it as fun as they did before. Reducing the features wouldn't help that, we'd be better off making new stuff to counter what we have currently.

This is a dream that will never come true, the old SSRP has been and gone, and i think it would be much better if we just left the past in the past, and let go of it. Why not spend your time working on the current issues, rather than just blind sighting them in dreams that you will get the old SSRP back.

I think i got an idea, cause its either printing or mining now a days. Why not make the ratio from mining for gems like really really low and you get a printer that gives you gems or something. it will allow more bases and no more afk miners.

Do you even know what Zarp used to look like? Do you know how painful it was to constantly buy Svu's once a day? And yes i really liked the old days but even back then explosives where problematic and hurting towards basing.

I joined about around the time blueprints were introduced, and even just having a server revert to that time would be great. Or possibly the time before the update, because that's around the time basing started becoming harder and harder for new players.

Maybe but it's nothing to do against it anyways. Since they fucked up the economy money isn't worth printing for anyways.

You used to raid with a lockpick, and it'd take a while, people had really 'cute' bases and it was nice to base, nice to raid, people were planting mushrooms to gain money, not gang loot. The old days were good.
People saying 'leave it behind this that' don't know how much fun they used to have ZARP was always 90/90 and peopel were waiting to join the server(at least I was ) and nowadays the server might be at 40/90 and 20/90 mining and 10/90 afk, been waiting for 6+ hours to find a base, I got in there and got blown away buy a thudnergun, rip nice raid.

This has been suggested countless times and has been denied every time. The reason we are SSRP because it is SEMI Serious and a server to have fun but still RP . A lot of the old players have left and making an "Old School" RP server will be detrimental because either no one would play it or the player base will be split out more so the SSRP server will become less populated and not as enjoyable. I was around when there wasn't a lot of op weapons and It was fun but Zarp has just improved from that aspect.
