He said implement a refund system so everyone who had one gets money back. It would be difficult but much better than having raids ruined.

Seriously, if you're butthurt that someone raided you build a better base.

You guys act as if raids have had any difficulty attached to them for the past year since every explosive was introduced.

i said it would be much more fun to raid.
and the base was 4 man base it takes
284 props.

the entire base was taken down with 1 thunder gun. its just to OP

Wow, way to invalidate your argument by needlessly insulting me before you started.

Anyway, my opinion on all explosives has always been that they are stupid. If bases were OP when they were introduced then rules could've changed that; not a way to destroy defenses. There was potential for so many creative ideas for items but explosives are the least fun. But seeing as the thundergun is just an extension (a very expensive extension,) there's no issue as long as the other explosives remain. I've been in multiple bases that have withstood a thundergun, maybe you're not building your bases correctly.

:minussp: I don't think it should be removed completely but just made allot more expensive and valuable to lose rather then remove it .

don't remove thundergun if you ain't removing orbital and the others..

Orbital is expensive and if you die with it it cost you alot money...

I think the soruce of this thread is that the bhood got raided (and destroyed,) by the madmen with thunderguns, so they're annoye at how "op" they are.

But yeah, this'll probably be accepted because we all know the "influence" of the brotherhood / staff team.

you are speculating alot there. though your speculation of us getting raided is correct. but that is not why this thread was made. it was made coz i use the thunder gun every day and i find it to op. i can come up to a 10 man base. not even joking and just shoot it with thunder gun and it will take me 2 thunder guns to go trough allt he props making a nice way in . and destroy everything.
I just find this thing to op. the orbital is nothing compared to this weapon. even though orbitals used to be so expansive back then.

With enough explosions you'll get through and base, regardless of how well it's build. It's either you don't bother in building a good defence or you build a REALLY REALLY good defence. It's been that way for ages now. IMO explosives in general add nothing to the game (perhaps very weak ones were a good idea but not m202s / orbs / milkors)

-support , this prevents big gangs from just hiding in their bases being afk. With the thundergun they really need to protect their bases on 1 to 1 combat with their guns. It should have less ammo tho, like 2 or 3 shots.

The issue with the thundergun, as any other explosive is that there is far more being added, than there is being taken out, considering how hard it is to kill a person within his holster time.

How about we: Remove the thundergun, but let anyone who has one keep it, that way we control the amount of thunderguns and they become rare and expensive as how they were intended to, and if we need more thunderguns we can always add it for another period. This would also solve the "What do we do with the people who has one" issue.

Another thing we could do: Im not sure if this is possible with the Garry's mod engine and all, but you could make it so that a player would only be able to holster an explosive weapon which is out of ammo. That way you wont have players waiting for the last 5 seconds of their holster time to fire the gun and instead they would have to survive for the intended minute, making more players loose their explosives. You could always raise the holster time to balance income and outcome correctly.

These changes could be applied to any explosive weapon.

I see new players excited when they build their first base.

Then after 30 seconds someone uses thundergun and completley demolish the base. Yes it's true that zarp loses alot of players when crashing so often however alot of people stop playing at zarp beacuse of this issue. I think the defenders should have something added aswell as it gets harder and harder.
