Which server is this suggestion for?: ZARP DarkRP
What would you like to add?: Not add, but change. At the moment the cop job is simply stupid, overpowered and unbalanced.
My suggestion is to nerf the taser of the cops. Right now they can use it and spam it as long as they want, even if some say it's hard to hit, it's not, it's just like a normal bullet, and it's overpowered as hell. Make it so that the cops can only use the taser once every 10 seconds. (Because also, in real life it takes a lot of time to change the pins if you miss). That's my first suggestion to nerf this incredibly unrealistic job. ( I KNOW THERE'S CURRENTLY A RESTRICTION ON HOW OFTEN THEY CAN USE IT, BUT IT'S VERY VERY LOW AND GIVES US THE CRIMINALS NO CHANCE TO FIGHT BACK, INCREASE IT).
Secondly, NERF THE HELL out of the battering ram. At the moment it insta-rams doors and fading doors down, if you are wanted in your base and you have 2 fading doors and in that exact moment a cop is at your door and you don't see him because you are typing or taking a piss or anything else. The cop will just instaram all your doors down because it takes less than one second to do so, and tase/arrest you, ONCE AGAIN without giving you a chance to fight back.
Please nerf this shit and make it AT LEAST 5 seconds until they can ram a door down. The thieves got like 30 seconds or around that. Cops should have less, but not instaram them down.
How would it benefit the server/why do you want to add this?: The server would be more balanced and it will actually give the criminals a chance to fight back and not get instaarrested whenever they are wanted and there's a cop around them. Because at the moment even if you have an assault rifle and you start unloading your gun at a gun, he will pull his taser out and arrest you before you can even take out half of his armor/HP.
Would it be exploitable, and if, how could we make it non-exploitable?: It won't be exploitable, because it already is.

Cops are supposed to be overpowered.

Making the taser 10 seconds, will fuck up the system completely.

Then at least 6-7, not 2 seconds like it is now, if they miss their taser you don't have any chance of pulling your gun out and shoot him because he will tase you again. And why are they supposed to be overpowered? The server should be balanced. Doesn't make sense.

We don't have so much cops in the first place, nerfing the cops will encourage them to criminal things.

Cops should be OP because if they aren't.. there's no use in it.

For example, cops in real life are also more "OP" than criminals aren't they?
With the tazer thing, the only thing to avoid that is to be smart.

For example, hide somewhere, run away, shoot him before he gets his tazer out.

I'm also pretty sure nerfing cops has been denied before, because CP should be OP.

Keep in mind my suggestion is not only about the taser. The most stupid and frustrating part of all is the batterim ram which allows cops to break into someone's base in a matter of seconds. Like I said, they can arrest you while you type something and you will not even notice them breaking into your base. And I'm saying this because it literally happened to me like 1 hour ago. I was typing and a cop rammed my 2 FDD down and tased me before I could press enter or equip my weapon. If the taser doesn't get nerfed, at least this should.

Well thieves need a lot of time in order to lockpick a door or crack a keypad.
Make it like that for the cops aswell. When they click on a door with the battering ram, it should take them like 10 seconds to break it down.

I'm sorry but with some of the people's base defenses it would come near impossible to ram the door without being filled with bullets.

There are ways in which you MUST force someone to crack to enter your base, disabling the functionality of a lockpick/battering ram - but not everyone can think of them.

In mine opinion COPS must be overpowered, because kill 4 raiders as 1 cop isnt easy yes ?

Are you talking about stacking fading doors? Because they're not allowed.
And I don't really know if there's any other way in "forcing" someone to crack instead of using a battering ram. Also keypads must be close to the doors regarding to your own rules. So even if your theory is possible, it would be illegal an admins will punish players for it. So, enlighten me please.

Why don't you just get such a base then? Team up with some team mates, and create a sick defence system. That's what i used to do when i was Rp'ing, and it worked all the time. Simply just find a discreet place, and don't make it look like much (when seeing it from the outside) In the sewers maybe?

Just try to go creative, and think about what could be usefull.

I agree that CP should be OP.
BUT I could actually think of a way to indirectly nerf it.
How about making Master Thieves for resistant to the Tazer.
Oh and actually Tazers if they are fired they emit confetti to identify each Tazer model and the owner.

Balancing CP and Criminals to the same level would be stupid since there are ALWAYS more criminals then CPs.

I'm sorry dude, I'm just saying that I've seen a couple of legal designs but I'm not going to tell you how they work.
