Suggestion Title: [SSRP] Offline gameified way to make money idk

How would it benefit the server: Cool

Potential Issues/Exploits: too much $$$$$$ :sick:

Additional notes:
Imagine a feature within the game where players can invest money and build potential gains through interactive on-server activities. This system would allow players to continue earning a portion of cash even when they are offline, similar to the mechanics of idle games like Cookie Clicker.

To make sure this feature isn't exploitable it would require players to maintain their investments actively, reminiscent of the care needed for a Tamagotchi. To prevent exploitation, there could be dynamic elements such as a stock market system where players can buy low and sell high, introducing a risk factor that could lead to potential losses as well.

A stock market would be interesting but since most people usually just keep their money in items it would give the few people who keep tons of money way too much buying power. I think it would work better where you put in a few items (e.g uranium or smt) and you have to interact with it every other day in order to keep it growing as fast as possible.

For instance:
an "overheating" system where after a day it reaches 50% heated and you have to cool it down, with another 2 days where it slowly reaches 100% with diminishing returns depending on how overheated it is.

There could also be different minigames at different levels of overheating, for instance at 20% and 40% you have an opportunity to get extra rewards but have to catch it between 20-30% and 40-50% heating respectively.

You would have to end your current session in order to cash out, with an exchange including high-mid tier weapons and suits and a stable cash exchange rate - but this would have to be relatively low, tanking the price of mid tier weapons and suits but not overinflating the economy.

except that will never be implemented in a way that you get a fair bargain for your items sadly, I don't think people will want to risk items for this, and with uranium the processor is much easier and much faster for the chance to get an SCU.
I don't hate the idea of letting people risk their 10s of billions to either make 20% back or lose 20%. I also think that over time the cash in circulation would end up decreasing, either that be withdrawal fees, purchase fees, and chances of the stocks decreasing. You are also only risking the cash for more or less cash, something that players will end up doing since they have so much.

Honestly any type of offline risk-reward way to earn sounds cool, I'm always down for user input and interpretation/ideas whether its as simple as a stock market or an actual minigame I'd be down. I just think it is a neat idea

Since offline earnings are a generic and known concept, being given a two-word tldr of the suggestion post can establish a fast first opinion for someone who has the say to promote the idea or someone who has the skills to implement it, hell it basically does that for anyone reading it. But this doesn't cover all grounds, at a baseline level SSRP already has "offline earnings" in the form of interest. But this is so lackluster that I haven't even used it in the 8 years I've been playing! The point of this post was to suggest offline earnings in a form where it is somewhat fun to experience rather than clicking a button. With a risk reward to have large potential gains AND having it be a sort of gameified state is bettet than interest. But simplifying it down to a tldr skips any and all examples for devs to pull ideas and inspiration from as well as a basic understanding of the point I am attempting to make. At work right now so I would write more but I think this gets my point across

I like the overall idea of it - We've had some similar stock market suggestions in the past but I can't remember if they were brushed off to the side due to other priorities, or denied (couldn't tell you on what basis since it was a while ago).

Nevertheless, there is an abundance of cash, and this suggestion aligns with the whole 'the rich getting richer' narrative - Due to that, it wouldn't be a bad idea to instead introduce a non-monetary currency system (like tokens, tickets, whatever). Alternatively, the introduction of a dynamic taxation system (wealth-based taxes) where players with more money get taxed at higher rates, or specific fees which increase based on their total wealth.

(whilst I understand that a stock market based system allows for loss/gain of cash, we both know that it's just gonna be another method for rich players to acquire easy money, otherwise people will not bother using it at all)

Furthermore, limiting how much players can earn while offline to prevent excessive accumulation of cash:

  • Earnings Cap: Setting a hard limit on how much money can be earned offline within a certain time frame, ensuring that players don’t accumulate excessive cash without active participation.

  • Diminishing Returns: The longer a player remains offline, the less they earn over time, encouraging them to stay engaged with the server. (which you basically already suggested)

The whole point of my long jibber-jabber is to propose a system where wealthy players can still profit, however at a slower rate compared to newcomers. This would make SSRP more noob-friendly, giving them a chance to catch up with other players on the server.
