The old knife was a weapon that required you to put a lot of thought into using, it was a high risk weapon but as long as you did not use it like an idiot it almost always guaranteed you a kill. It was a stealth oriented weapon that required you to attack from behind and pay close attention to your surroundings and what weapon your target is using, if they have a shotgun you don't attack them. Now its just pick a target and sprint at them, you can just walk into a group of people stab a detective in the face and it kills so quickly that you can get away with it, there is no risk to the knife anymore, just the reward. The old knife was underused sure but it was never under powered, you just had to actually play smart. It also doesn't help that the weapon patch made the time to kill on all weapons a lot higher, so depending on the weapon you can just run straight at someone and they wont have the damage to kill you.DEADMONSTOR wrote:

I would really love if people that actually play TTT right now would argue about this since we are the people that actually getting focused right now and not people that just look at a pro and con list of the knife. So glad you fully understand!Look clarky, I appreciate you for the most part but you have no place arguing in this. You haven't played the server in long time and you have no idea what it's like to get targeted from the pre-round. Pretty sure Clarky is saying that if you've got a problem with the knife just change it to the knife from TF2? That's kind of how I read it. He's not comparing games, he's not saying anything about how the game should be played, so you're making yourself look more than stupid for getting irritated over something that you really don't have to get that irritated over. Also, the knife is a melee weapon. "Never bring a knife to a gunfight" is exactly why it has to be overpowered. I'd still like it if a backstab would be instakill and a regular stab do like 80 or whatever, but as far as I'm concerned it's fine enough as it is. Clarky and Raeker are supporting it somewhat. Just saying a different way of nerfing the weapon? Well yes, but it also seems like they wan't it to stay like this until one hitting from the back is added and we all know that that won't happen in one day so until that would happen I would just love to see the old knife and not the current one If you still want the knife to be used if it goes back to being a 2 hit(as it should) the suggestion i never got around to making would be to add knife skins. Even if it wasn't as powerful people would still use it if they saw you could equip it with a cool skin. |

Even if it wasn't as powerful people would still use it if they saw you could equip it with a cool skin. Also to add to what Miia said the knife was extremely powerful when thrown as it would always one shot when it went over more than 2 meters of distance and also would barely leave any DNA on them, an added bonus was that with the trajectory people would look in the wrong place for the killer and when they looked in the right place you had your gun out again. On top of all that Bezzy explicitly said that the goal was to reduce players time to kill but then made the knife one shot which is literally the opposite of reducing that time. |
