Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
I was a moderator for roughly one month. This Rite of Passage teaches many players the MINIMUM requirements for what it takes to be a part of the ZARP team; learning your role and the game still plays its part WELL into being SA. I have been an Administrator twice now. I am very patient, know my content, and still have plenty of that fire left to keep my server one of the best a Eurasian player could join/play on. My time as a moderator is completely overshadowed by my time as an Administrator, and my learning experiences turned in to something much more than simple references; I gained a sense of pride in my server.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around.
I will not give any specific situation here, as it is putting a spotlight on one situation that does not and will not determine the rest of your staff experience. I will, however, shed light on the fact that every day that you are on and hosting events, doing F1's, or even sorting through simple player issues, you are going to get that "one guy" or two of the day. Each time you have to handle it to the best of your ability and with all of the patience you have; they usually have not been in your position and probably don't know how things run or how the system works for staff among many other things. No matter the cost be polite, courteous, and patient with angry players. and COVER YOUR A**.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
There will always be staff on to ask for help, so I won't go through the whole shpeel of how to teleport, ban, etc. A few simple rules will suffice here; DO NOT teleport every player on the server. Sure it causes temporary lag, sure it causes people to freak out, and YES it is a big deal. It DOES however give the staff team a bad rep, and remember; even if there are only 28 players online, that is 28 stories that they are going to go tell their friends. Also remember to never stop improving, both professionally and characteristically. As long as you do what you are supposed to do, help out, ask and answer questions, and improve the players of the ZARP community, you will be one happy camper.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
First of all, this is highly situational. The player has to show improvement in the areas lacked in beforehand, show remorse, and actually WANT to be a part of ZARP. That is just the tip of the iceberg as we all know. Of course players that dont want to be here will weed themselves out.
SO, HAMPERED...YOU HAVE BEEN GONE A WHILE...SOME OF US NEWER GUYS DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO YOU ARE?!
Well, ZARP family... I am not here to dazzle you with cute highlighter yellow-and-pink lettering, adorable backgrounds, and terrible jokes. I am here to plea my case as a candidate for staff, both personally and professionally, as are all of the situations I handle in ZARP. I was in the midst of learning more than ever, and wanting to change ever more the ways of ZARP, when one dreadful night ... my computer's hard drive was corrupted. As I had no money to fix it, I kept it in a locked up suitcase in a locked up vehicle that sat there for some time. I used said vehicle one day and the passenger did not lock the door. Mind you I spent all day making sure the door was locked behind them and constantly reminding them. I get home...and don't check the door. The ( quite literally ) ONE DAY that said door was unlocked, $2,400 worth of equipment was stolen out of my vehicle. Never to be seen again. THIS was the cause of my absence, NOT due to lack of effort or drive to get on.
Now that is cleared up; I hope you do not mind the lack of yet another moderator application; I never did wish to resign to begin with, nor had it been a choice. I was, and still am fit for staff, gaining hours by the...minute, and currently am experiencing a lack of staff support at the time that I play. Let me get back into the admin grind, making my time slot a better time for myself and my fellow ZARPians, and regain my family.
Thank you for your time.
