Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario.
RDM is killing a player without a valid RP reason.
-EXAMPLE- A gangster sees a cop standing on the sidewalk, and decides to kill him simply because he's a cop, despite not having a warrant on him or being in danger in any way.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario.
NLR is a rule that dictates that once you die your RP character will not remember what transpired, and must wait 3 minutes to return to the previous location, and must also wait an additional 7 minutes from the time NLR timer ends to raid that location due to the raid cooldown.
-EXAMPLE- Player X was killed trying to raid Player Y. Player X waited 3 minutes and returned to raid Player Y. Player X is in the wrong because he did not follow the 10 minute raid timer.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario.
Metagaming is using information that is deemed “OOC” to your IC’s advantage.
-EXAMPLE- The PD is currently being raided. A citizen watching this undergo writes in OOC chat “PD is being raided, come help!”
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
-RESPONSE- After reviewing the logs carefully, I would ask each player for their story, and then follow it up with a request for proof on both sides. If Y’s story does not match up with X’s, and there is no evidence from X, then the F1 would have to be dismissed, otherwise if I were able to determine that Y did indeed RDM X, then Y would need to be punished/warned.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
-RESPONSE- If Y happened to be a cop, and just spawned and noticed Y running by with the wanted sign above his head, it is fair game, and I would make sure X would be well-informed of this. However, if he wasn’t a cop, and purely went after him for revenge, then it would be in violation of the rules and Y would need to be punished/warned.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
-RESPONSE- Player X would need to be informed that he is metagaming, and must contact the CP by an IC means.
Why me?: During my brief stint as a moderator here towards the end of the Summer, I feel like displayed a decent level of effectiveness with handling my powers, and that includes completion of F1s and also balancing that with roleplaying regularly on the server. A thing that I am willingly open to address was my activity from that period. I will not lie. I don’t have a specific excuse as to why I stopped. I did have increasing hours at my job, but it did not impede me to the point where I couldn’t hop on for a few hours for a few days a week. I’d say it was mostly allowing myself to be distracted by other things, such as other games. I am confident this time around I will remain focused and continue to play.
I would like to think of this as a request for a second chance to prove to you guys that I can be diligent when it comes to my activity, and I truly feel that my staff experience overall with Friendly Players and here at ZARP will be able to be proven invaluable and truly make myself an asset that can be depended on at this place. Thank-you for reading.
