Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario:
R.D.M. (Random Death Match)is when a player shoots and kills another player for no reason sometimes intending to cause chaos in the server.
R.D.M example: Jim is walking down the street minding his own business, when suddenly Carl pulls his weapon out and kills Jim for no reason and then runs away.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario:
N.L.R. (New Life Rule) is when a player forgets all about his old life due to the fact that he was killed, your character can not go to where he died until the time on the top of the screen ends.
N.L.R. example: Ted is defending his base from 2 raiders when he gets killed, he then starts a new life forgetting everything that had occurred before. He then returns back to his base after the time on the screen is over to start a new life.
Breaking of N.L.R. example: Tim kills Jim in a raid, Jim comes back 1 min and 20 seconds later and kills Tim. This is a very common example of the NLR rule being broken. Another example would be that Tim kills Jim in a raid and after 10 min Jim sees Tim and kills him saying that Tim had killed him 10 min earlier.
Explain "Metagaming" and give an example scenario:
Metagaming is when you use OOC (Out-Of-Character) chat to share IC (In Character).
Metagaming example: Garry needs a guard so:
(OOC)Garry: " I need a guard to meet me at spawn?"
(OOC)Guard: "Alright, I'm coming wait for me."
-Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x:
I would first take both x and y to a calm place where I would first talk to player x to hear his side of the story then I hear player y's story. After that, I would ask if any of the 2 has proof to back his story up.
- If there is proof that player X was indeed RDM'ed by player Y. I would explain the RDM rule to player Y and ask him to refer to the MOTD for more details.
- If there is no proof at all, I would take player X aside and explain to him why my hands tied and that proof is required in a situation like this. Then would apologize to player Y for wasting his time.
- If there is proof that player Y did not RDM player X I would again apologize to player Y for wasting his time and ask player X to read the rules again in order to make sure that this incident does not repeat again.
If I found out in player Y's side of the story that he had an invalid reason to kill player X, I would warn player Y for RDM and then explain what RDM is and ask him to refer back to the rules for further details.
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time:
I would first bring player x and ask him what happened then I would bring both of them and ask for both sides of the story.
- If player x had misunderstood the NLR rule I would explain to him and refer him to the motd.
- If player y had an invalid story, I would reexplain the rule to him and punish him depending on his attitude as I was explaining the rule. If it was a positive attitude I would verbally warn him, but if it was negative I would warn him by command. If this player had been warned before, I would warn him by command and ask him not to do it again.
If both stories are valid I would ask for proof from both players. If there is no proof I would explain to player x that there is nothing I can do and apologize then, I would apologize from player Y for wasting his time and send both players back.
-Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided:
I would first teleport to player x and freeze him in order to prevent him being shot at by the raiders and stop the raid briefly and explain that what he did is meta gaming and give a brief explanation about said rule and refer him to motd. Depending on his attitude and whether he denies what he did or not I would decide on whether to keep it at a verbal warning or warn him by command. Then I would unfreeze player x and resume the raid.
Why I should be chosen (longer answer expected here - at least 150 words):
I am not going to come here and say I am better than the rest; yes I do have experience, so I know how to handle most F1 situations, I know the commands, but I also know that, that does not qualify me to be a staff member. What is the point of a staff member who stops rule breakers then, break the rules himself, by abusing. I believe those who know me, know that after 5 months of being staff about a year ago, I started messing up.
Yes, I am asking for a second chance. Why? I want to make up for everything bad I have done in the past, by making people feel like there is someone they can rely on if anyone ruins their RP experience, like I once ruined theirs. I know this is not what you usually write to reply to such a question, but when I read most replies to this question, even in my old mod application, I feel like they are full of cr*p. You can’t be perfect, not break a single rule, nor accidently press that noclip button, or forget to ungod yourself after an F1, like I once did. I do promise though to try my absolute best to not do those mistakes. I can’t promise I won’t break a rule, but I can promise I will try my best not to. Sorry if this is cheesy
