Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin.
My time as a moderator has been a roller coaster, I've had my ups and downs but I've got through it, I never gave up. Throughout my time being a moderator on ZARP SSRP has improved me in many ways, not just how I deal with situations but how I am now, it's made me a better person. My patience has improved, from my previous experience of being a staff member I always wanted to get the situation over and done with but since I've been a moderator on ZARP SSRP it's shown me I should take my time and deal with the situation in the best way possible. I've learned how to get around situations without difficulty, well, sometimes things can be a little difficult but I find a way around it and make sure it's dealt with in a fair way. Being a moderator on ZARP SSRP has been the greatest experience of staffing I've had, I've learned so much, not just about dealing with things but learning about how people work, how people react to certain things such as punishment for example.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user).
I was the only staff member on server 2, most users thinking they can get away with more things and everything was beginning to become riot. I was working on keeping the F1's down the very minimum, I was about to goto a player since they needed my assistance and BANG, I get shot. I was facing in the direction of where the bullets got fired from and I clearly saw who fired the bullets. I make a quick reaction and freeze the player which shot me taking them to a roof. I question the player before taking action and ask they why they shot me, they respond with "It wasn't me.". Me knowing he shot me I tell him I witnessed him shooting me, he didn't respond. Above his head I notice his chat bubble appearing and disappearing multiple times before I respond with "If you don't respond to me I'll warn you, It is clear you're there.". Silence. As he beamed his physgun in my direction I warn him for RDM. As soon as I pressed enter he comes back and begins to scream down his microphone telling me i'm a terrible moderator, I should die and he is going to report me. I warn him for being disrespectful and again he falls silent, I explain to him what he did wrong and how he can't speak to anyone like that, no matter the situation. He then replies with "It wasn't me.". seconds later he leaves the server. I carry on handling the F1's and then minute later I get help from other staff members to finish off handling the F1's.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?
Firstly i'd like to welcome you to the ZARP SSRP staff team! Before you get granted your rank we will have to go through a few things. Before we get started i'd like to introduce myself, my name is Cody Adams, i'm going to take you through this guideline step by step.
Commands:
Here are a list of basic commands you will be using throughout your time as staff on ZARP SSRP.
/tp - This command will teleport you or the users to the position you're pointing at. To teleport a user use /tp <user's name>, if you want to teleport yourself all you need to use is /tp.
/bring - This command is used to bring a player to your position, again, you put the users name at the end, for example /bring <user's name>.
/goto - This command is used to goto a user, it's better to goto a user before dealing with a situation just incase they're in the middle of a raid or being raided, if not it could cause the player to become quite aggressive depending on their personality.
/freeze - This command will freeze a user, once frozen they cannot move, equip any weapon or use any weapon. Be sure to /unfreeze the user after, again, you add their name at the end, for example /freeze <user's name>.
/slay - This command will slay a user, once they've been slayed they will return to spawn after death, you add the user's name at the end, for example /slay <user's name>.
/back - This command will teleport a user to their previous location. If you bring a user to deal with a situation, once the you've finished with the situation you would use /back <user's name> to return them to their previous location you can also return your self by just using /back.
/backspawn - This command is very simple, it will teleport a user or yourself directly back to spawn.
/kick - This command is used to kick a user from the server. You must be sure you've typed in the players full name otherwise you may kick another player by mistake which would cause a lot of problems, most likely a report on you.
/warn - This command will issue a player with a warning, you would use /warn <user's name> <reason>, you can view user's warnings using 'F6'.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Hello, I've reviewed your application and it has been
accepted. You've show me that you have taken back what you did to disrupt the server. Please be aware, if you do anything to damage the server again it will be a permanent ban. I'd like to thank you for making this appeal, you have put a lot of effort into this appeal and we thank you for not giving up with the ZARP SSRP server. If we notice any of this behavior coming from you again we will not even take it into consideration. Again, thank you for making your appeal, Cody.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words).
I believe I should be promoted due to the amount of time and dedication I put into the ZARP SSRP servers. I'd say i'm a loyal member of the staff team which I wish to pass down throughout the staff team to new comers. I want people to look up to me and want to follow my steps which would hopefully bring in dedicated, non-abusive players to the staff team. I don't rate myself but I like to think i'm doing something to help the servers which is why I am applying for a promotion. I follow rules and by this Saturday I would have attended 3 meetings, the minimum is 1. I'm a very mature and understanding person which helps in many situations, i'm good at guiding people in the right direction and hopefully turn peoples behavior from bad to good. I have many skills when it comes to people and one of those skills is co-operation. I like to work with people and I work very well with people, it doesn't mean I don't work well independently because I do. I have a lot of confidence so I take charge of the F1's I handle, i'm also on duty most of the time i'm on the server unless the F1's are under control and someone has offered for me to RP with them which is not very often. I am very serious and like to get the job done, for example, I like to make sure all of the F1's are kept to a minimum. I'd say i'm great at mentoring new staff which hopefully one day i'd be able to help with since I do have a lot of experience mentoring new staff.
Thank you for reading my application, Cody.
