How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
I have been an Administrator on the server for almost 5 months now and during this period I have encountered a lot of different situations that I have worked through either by myself or with the help of a fellow staff member if I wasn't entirely sure how to handle the report. I now know how to handle almost every situation and am confident in my decision-making. I have also gotten to know the majority of my fellow staff members by interacting with them in-game, through Teamspeak/Discord, or through other servers so I feel confident in reaching out to them if need be.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team?
Trust
I first joined the community back in 2014 and started off on the SSRP server where I worked my way to Administrator twice. After being staff on there for a few years, I started to get bored of the game mode and wanted to try something else. So I joined the TTT server and fell in love with the game mode. I joined the TTT staff team back in 2017 but unfortunately, my computer broke and I ended up getting demoted for inactivity since I was no longer able to play. About 7-8 months ago I returned and immediately came back to the TTT server. I made my way up to administrator and have been there for about 5 months now. Since then I was also chosen for initial staff on the Minecraft server where I was chosen as a Super Administrator and soon after became one of the Server Owners. I have been with this community for a long time and I have no plans on leaving the community in the foreseeable future.
Attitude
I have always had a positive attitude towards everyone and am always happy to lend a helping hand to anyone in need of help. If I see a staff member struggling to handle a situation, I will always reach out to them and offer my assistance if needed. The same goes for users, if I see a player struggling to understand the game mode or the rules, I will always be there to help them get the hang of things. An example of this is if a new player joins the server and ends up breaking a rule, rather than just slaying and warning them, I will reach out to them through either in-game PMing or through an active report chat and explain to them what rule they broke and how to avoid breaking the rule in the future. I will also ask them to read through the rules and how they can find them. I would then give them a verbal warning and inform other staff members that I have done so via Admin chat.
Experience
As a Super Administrator and Server Owner on Minecraft, I have gotten to know how the Lead Team works. I know what will be expected of me if I were to be accepted for this rank and I will work my hardest to complete my designated responsibility for the week. I have also read through the Lead Team policies so I am already familiar with what to do and how to act in different situations. I have also already been trained with the other responsibilities that come with a Lead Team rank such as TeamSpeak and Discord staff.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
The biggest obstacle that I run into is dealing with hackers. When I spot someone that I believe may cheating, I will immediately switch to spectator mode and start recording the player so I can capture any suspicious behaviour. I will also contact a Lead Team member by requesting an anti-cheat via the ulx menu and by pinging them on the staff discord server. Once I believe I have collected sufficient evidence of the cheater, I will upload the video and send it to the Lead Team where they will discuss it during the meeting.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
First I would thoroughly read through the report abuse. After gathering all of the facts, I would be sure to respond to the report abuse with "Handling" to let everybody know that I will be handling the report to avoid any confusion.
I would then get in contact with the staff member that was reported and get their side of the story. I would also try to get in contact with the player that made the report to see if there is any more information on the situation. After hearing both sides of the story and examining the evidence (if any) then I would come to a conclusion to either accept or deny the report.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
The first thing I would do would is ask the staff member the reasoning behind the ban. After getting the reasoning, I would check the player's rapsheet to see if they had any previous bans that were still recent to indicate such a lengthy ban. If I notice that the ban was excessive, I would ask the staff member to come onto Teamspeak where I would speak with them and explain that the ban was pretty harsh and should probably be lowered. I would link them the staff handbook to make sure that they have it and go over the
suggested ban lengths with them. After, I would unban the player and have the admin reban them with a more reasonable time.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
I would reach out to the staff member and guide them through the situation so that they know how to handle the situation if it were to happen again. I would remind them that if they are ever unsure on how to handle a situation then they can always ask for help from other staff members or Lead Team members. When I first started off as a moderator, I did this a lot. I would struggle in certain situations and always reach out to my fellow staff members for assistance. We're all a team and should always be willing to help each other when needed.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation? First I would ask the staff member what happened and what rule was broken. I would then ask if they had any proof of the situation. If they did, then I would get in contact with the staff member who broke a rule and question why they were doing so. I would then explain to them that as a staff member, we should be setting a good example for the players. If a player saw staff members breaking rules then they would assume it was okay for them to do so as well. I would then save all of the evidence of the staff member breaking rules and bring it up in the Lead Team meeting.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
First I would kindly ask the staff members to stop and remind them that we are on the same team. If the argument were to continue I would ask them both to come onto Teamspeak where I would remind them of the Staff ethos and how staff members should always remain calm and keep a friendly attitude. I would then ask them to stop and apologize to one another and if the situation were to happen again, I would bring it up in the Lead Team meeting.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
I would immediately tell the staff member to stop what they are doing and to come on Teamspeak. On Teamspeak I would explain to them that what they were doing was ruining the players experience. If they ignore my request to come on Teamspeak or ignore what I was saying on Teamspeak and decided to carry on breaking rules and ruining players experience, I would issue an emergency demotion to the staff member and log it. I would then bring the situation up during the Lead Team meeting.
