How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
My time as an admin has helped me relearn the old commands I knew from my first time as admin, as well as I've gained information regarding the rules, ethos. I hang around a lot of higher staff and I have learned off of them what it would take to become super admin and I feel I've learned and done all I can as Admin and would like to present myself with some new challenges.
There's also been a good few times an aimbotter has been on and I couldn't do anything apart from constantly slay them while waiting for a lead team member to come on..
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team?
Attitude
My attitude in game is always approachable and fair, as well as easy going and relaxed, I love making causal conversation and joining in on the player banter. I try to avoid having arguments as much as possible as I feel they cause a bad aura and bring the mood down
I feel I have the qualifications I request others to have when applying for this role, such as being heavily involved with the staff team and the community. A standard I hold myself is to is making sure I talk in game, that I know who the regulars are, that I always explain why I do things (mainly to people who have reported others, and why x punishment was/wasn't dished out)
TeamSpeak
I always hang about in public spacers to talk with new people and friends, I enjoy meeting new people from ZARP, even now because of ZARP I made a good friend which I'm visiting next weekend!
I'm basically on TS every single night and easily available from Steam or TS
Experience
I was admin on this server 2 years ago roughly, and in my time I was regarded as the best one, I still to this day hold the values I held 2 years ago and handle reports more than playing, and I always think of ways for TTT to be better. Since coming back I've refreshed myself on the updated ethos and rules as well as gotten myself familiar with the lines to not cross in general (I felt like fucking
Demolition Man) I watch reports being handled on the forums and have been there a lot of times when Henny or Luki have handled reports and the way they go about it in TS. Always asking why they think player X deserves xyz.
Activity
I know activity isn't important, but I've tried to be on every single day for minimum 30 minutes, I broke my record a few days ago and got pretty sad about it
but I've been on everyday for over a month or so, interacting with players constantly and it's been real fun
General Plans
I have already spoken to staff about this, at least a few but our staff team need a good morale boost as well as numbers boost, so the thing I'm working on and talked with a few LT members on is making sure staff advertise becoming a staff member to loyal players, as well as in report abuses that take no action on the admin in question, they just get their warn removed, make it "denied" as the user didn't get what they request, if staff constantly see "accepted" on report abuses as well as players it may discourage them to apply, even though the staff member (in the cases I've seen this happen) hasn't done anything wrong, they just did their job and got hit with a massive grey area.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
Back before the elephant in the room there was a hacker on clearly aimbotting and it was early morning, I had to slay them for around an hour constantly to make sure they didn't do anything while I stress poked any LT member on Steam/TS.
I wrongly auto-slayed and warned someone by accident, I quickly removed the slay before the round ended (so he wouldn't get auto-slain at all) and explained that I'm in TeamSpeak with a lead team member that can remove the warn, and not to worry about it, it shall be removed shortly, he calmed down once I explained.
A user once came into the TeamSpeak asking to speak to X admin, to which he started saying he wants an apology or he'll go to the forums and X admin punished for being a dick (it was banter in context), I, being the silver-tonged bastard got him down to just wanting to X admin to say sorry over TS and for X admin saying he could have 1 round with his wife, X admin came back, said sorry explained it was just harsh banter and he'll refrain in the future... and that X user could have a round on his wife. It all worked out in the end and we all had a good laugh about it
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
First I would say that I'm handling the report
I would get in touch with the staff member in question, and ask for their opinion, and then here there are multiple roads
Accepted Report:
If the report is concise and has a lot of evidence that this staff member abused I would give the staff member a hefty talking to and bring them up in the next TTT meeting if necessary for an official warning, I'd let the player know in the report that it has been accepted and the staff member has had a talking to and it won't happen again.
Denied Report:
If it was a misunderstanding I'll make it clear to the admin that he should avoid those kinds of situations, and let the player known that it was pure accidental and that admin X will be more careful next time, though we advise the same from their end.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
I would get in contact with the staff member and first ask "Why did you choose this amount of time?" to get a further understanding of why they did what they did, if I still feel it's excessive after that, I tell the user in future these things are only worth
[X Amount of Time] so try not to go over that.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
I'd tell them to chill out, it's not as personal. I'd explain that yes, the user is (in this situation) more than likely a huge minge, that handling it this way is a good way to get a report abuse, just straight face it right now and it all works out in the end, in future if a report comes from that player and another staff is on the server and you don't want to deal with it, politely ask them to
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
I'd ask for any proof they have of it as I can't do much without as it becomes word vs word, if no proof I'd ask if there was any eye-witnesses to at least back up what they're saying. So depending on if it's yes or no to those things I would speak to admin X
If it was true and they had proof, I'd ask them to not do it again and that they'll be under supervision from a few select players to make sure they're not rule breaking, while also bringing him up in the next TTT meeting (if the rule breaking was that severe)
If it was all speculation, I'll ask if they did actually do it, if they say yeah, I'd follow what I said above, if not I'd say that "Well others seem to think you do, so maybe watch out man, I'd be careful with what you're doing"
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
I already handled a situation like this, now I won't use names but Harrius and Kimmiuos were arguing and I knew and liked both of them at the time, so I told both to calm down and said "You both have different perspectives on this case, I've spoken to you both privately, you both just have big misunderstandings honestly, you both feel the same you're just expressing it wrong", they both calmed down after dumbing down each of their points into bite size chunks and pointing it out to them, I haven't heard them verbally fight since
It's similar in most situations with people I'm less friendly with except knowing the history, so I'd ask if each staff member wanted to go into a private spacer and talk it out calmly, and I'd be the middleman in this case for making sure it stays civil and fair. If it couldn't stay civil or come to a conclusion on how to fix it, I'd advice they both chill for a bit and relax and avoid each other for a while and try to accept each others differences.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
I would approach the staff member as well as getting a head admin involved. I would then gather evidence on what the staff member has done as confronting the user and explaining the staff member in question will be receiving a talking to, and we're sorry for any harm to him or his gameplay experience. I would then speak to the staff member as to why he was doing it as well as getting the HA in the TeamSpeak channel and giving them the evidence so that he can decide what to do. If it really is serious you might have to emergency demote him to prevent the user from causing further harm to any other users when he is on and immediately notify a higher up staff member.
