Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
I purposely decided not to go for Admin right away as a Moderator so that I could completely refamiliarize myself with how Staffing works before I became an Admin again, though I knew a lot about it already. This is my second time being a Moderator and I feel that with my past experience, I'm equipped to move on to Admin. I've also been reminded about how fun Staffing can be, helping players and making people's times better on the server, something I forgot some time ago.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):
There were many situations where users would lie about whether or not they've broken rules, due to not being able to spectate, I had quite a few difficulties catching them rulebreak. But through patience and determination I was always eventually able to adequately punish said users.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
(These are reposts, please don't hurt me!)
Congratulations on being accepted to serve the ZARP Community as a Moderator!
First off you'll need to know some of the menus.
Press F1 and you will be taken to the Report Menu, in which you can see all current reports being handled and unattended to. Right click on an un-handled report and click *Handle this*, then you will be given a few more options to TP to them and bring them to you if required.
Press F6 and you will be taken to the Recent Punishments Menu where you can type in Steam ID's and enter player's names into the search bar in order to view their recent punishments to assist you in their judgement, as well as ALL punishments on their past record.
Here are a few basic commands to get you started as a Moderator on our server!
- Teleport
First off, the most important tool as a Moderator that separates you from regular users is your ability to teleport to different locations. Open console by pressing the Tilde key (the key directly under the 'Esc' key).
Now, type this exactly: bind (any key) "say /tp"
In order to teleport other players or to teleport yourself to them correctly, I recommend instead of typing to use their Steam ID or to use the TAB menu and clicking their name manually. (Or you may tp the entire server and get smashed.)
- Back
Type /back to teleport yourself to the last location you teleported to.
- Warn
(Name // Steam ID)
To warn a player for a rulebreak, type /warn STEAM ID/NAME (REASON). To unwarn a player simply type the exact same thing you typed but /Unwarn STEAM ID // NAME.
- Freeze
To freeze a player, type /freeze STEAM ID // NAME.
But I would highly recommend using the TAB menu once again instead to manually freeze them. (Note - Freeze is never meant to be used as a punishment, only a tool to handle situations. I would also recommend only using Steam ID's as well, found in the tab menu or logs.
- Mute
[/b]Mute a player using the TAB menu for rulebreaks that are related to Mic // Chat. (Racism, Mic Spam, Advertising). Only use 5m and 10m mutes.
- Slay
Slay a player, usually used for RDM and is used as a substitute punishment instead of warning.
- Kick
Kick a player through the TAB menu in order to quickly handle things like Mass Prop Spam or situations where the server is completely out of control.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that another admin banned them permanently for prop-spam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
I would first follow common procedures, those procedures being: Contact the Admin who had banned him, requesting that they lend me their opinion on whether or not they should stay banned or be unbanned, working out a compromise.
If I am unable to establish contact with the Admin who banned the user, I will make a decision based fully on my own opinion of the situation, taking in aspects such as but not limited to: Time since they were banned, reason of the ban, effort of the appeal, etc. Since they were permanently banned for Prop Spam (Which is far too harsh in my opinion unless there are other factors involved, in this case I would decide that they'd be unbanned, the rest would go as follows.
Thank you for taking the time to create this ban appeal, after attempting to make contact and failing to make contact with the Administrator who banned you, I've decided to unban you entirely from the server.
However, please keep in mind that any further rulebreaks will not go unnoticed and if you are banned again you will have to wait far longer than you did here. Nonetheless, I hope to see you on the server later and congratulations on being unbanned!
Why I should be promoted(we recommend around 150 words):
I know that I should be promoted because I could do so much more work on the server more efficiently and quicker as an Administrator with the new tools that being an Admin comes with. There've been many times where I felt almost helpless because I could not spectate or ban a user, and instead I had to stick with only the half-measures I am left with as being only a Moderator.
I've had a significant amount of experience as an Admin before (Most of my hours were as staff) on this server, and therefore as soon as I get the rank I'd be able to immediately start doing work. I know that I am ready to receive the rank as Administrator as I've been considering the idea for some time, so I've decided that I'm able to get back into it fully.
A serious thank you for even considering my Administrator Application, and I wish you all a fine rest of your day/night. Also; please feel free to recommend changes or improvements to my application or the way I do things, criticism is not only welcomed, but invited!<3
