How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
I feel as though my time as an administrator has greatly prepared me for this opportunity. I have been able to help the community and server in many ways, and now I feel as though I am prepared to take my skill set to the next level. I have thoroughly enjoyed enforcing the rules on the server, and have done my job to the best of my ability. Initially when I was mod, people doubted I could handle the position, but I proved them wrong and was able to provide the best service I had to offer. My promotion to administrator was quite the chance for me to really prove myself, and I feel within these few months I have. My time on the server has allowed me to fully understand all the rules, and to enforce them ideally, even in rather distinctive situations. I am always extremely friendly in game and attempt to interact with the users as much as I possibly can, in order to ensure they have the best possible experience. I really care for the well being and success of the server, and feel as though my time as administrator has allowed for me to be a great asset to the lead team.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team?:
Attitude: I am always as friendly as can possibly be within game. I never berate users who have questions, and am always more than happy to assist. I have been told by many users that I am a great admin, not only for my calm demeanor and fair punishments, but due to the fact that my personality allows for me to become friends with the users. I think it is crucial for a staff member, regardless if you are lead team or not, to be pleasant towards users and try and create bonds with them in order to ensure they enjoy their experience and return to Zarp. I will never berate nor mock someone with a question, as it is my duty to ensure that the players understand the gamemode and will cooperate by following the rules. When I handle reports, I never am biased and will always look into both sides of the story. I am always fair in my punishments as well, as regardless of who the individual is, they will face the same consequences as everyone else for their actions
Activity: My activity is rather high, and it has been consistently this high for months. Despite me being in university, I still make time for the server, showing my dedication. I conscientiously enjoy my time on the server and love to get on as much as I possibly can. My activity has remained consistently high throughout my entire time as staff, so I know that if I do obtain the rank of Super Administrator, my activity will not falter and I will remain on the server as much as my schedule permits. I can guarantee my activity will remain as high as it is now, despite my newly required responsibilities as a Super Administrator.
Dedication/Helpfulness: These are interchangeable in my opinion, as my helpfulness on and off the server also shows my dedication. In the game, I am always willing to answer any questions a user has, and I efficiently answer to the best of my ability. I will always listen to those who have concerns, regardless of their rank, and will give the best feedback I possibly can. If a user has an issue with another staff member, I will discuss it with them and tell them how to report it on the forums if it is necessary. I have made contact requests to remove warns given by other staff members as they were false, given that staff members permission of course. Off the game, I always try to help out when necessary. If a user messages me with a concern, I will respond as soon as I am available. I will leave legitimate advice on applications, in hopes that the user takes it into consideration and works on those key areas
Responsible: As my time as moderator and administrator, I have never had an LT contact me about anything I was doing which was wrong. I have 0 report abuses accepted on me, rather, 0 even made on me on the forums. I have also never had a talking to from an LT member, and feel as though this proves that I am quite a responsible staff member, as with my high activity and 0 report abuses made, it is clear I am doing my job in a exemplary manner. Despite those who doubted me when I first applied, I believe, over the course of my time as staff, I have proven to be a responsible individual and that I deserve my rank as administrator.
Forums/Teamspeak: I attempt to post on the forums as much as I can, especially on TTT related topics. I will always provide those who apply for staff with the reasons I support/don't support them, and will tell them on the areas they should improve on. I also attempt to do as many report abuses for TTT as possible, if they aren't already taken by someone else. Admittedly, my Teamspeak presence has only recently started to improve, but I am making a conscious effort to improve on it.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
The most obvious situation this would occur in would be the case with hackers. For me, I am able to handle anything that I am allowed too. However, moderators and administrators can't deal with hackers, so we must work around this. If someone is hacking and mass rdming, it is quite simple to work around, as you can warn them for MRDM, and if they do it a second time you can ban them. However, if the hacker isn't breaking other rules, then contact with a LT member is essentially as we cannot due anything based on the limitations placed on us. If I was SA, this would be quite easy to work around as I could just anticheat them. This would be quite simpler to do rather than calling and relying on others. I also live in North America, so it is quite impossible to get an LT member at the later times as they are mostly asleep. It would be quite beneficial for me to be an SA and to be on at the later times, as it would allow for those players to have an LT member they can contact when their is a suspected hacker on the server.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
First off, I would explain in the forum post how I am handling it. I would read and analysis the report abuse, but not come up with any preconceived bias until after speaking with both parties involved. I would then reach out to the victim through steam in order to get their side of the story. Afterwards, I would reach out to the staff member who was accused of abuse and hear their side of the story. I would come to my conclusion if the staff member was abusing or not based off of the evidence and legitimacy of the stories. After that, I would decide what punishment if appropriate for the staff member was in fact abusing/rulebreaking, assuming I accept the report of course.
If I accept the report:
Hello _____, After reviewing the evidence provided and speaking to both individuals involved it is clear the staff member in question is at fault and is entirely culpable. I have spoken to them and have made sure that this will not occur again. Their actions were reprehensible and, based off the circumstances, will face the consequences of their actions. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and thank you for making this report, this has been
If I deny the report:
Hello _____, after reviewing the evidence provided and hearing both sides of the story, it is clear that this staff member has done nothing wrong. Due to this, no action will be taken against them. However, I thank you for your reporting this and I ask that you do not feel intimidated to report another staff member if you feel they are abusing/rulebreaking. Due to my verdict, this has been
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
I would first contact the staff member through steam to understand why he banned this user for such a long amount of time. If they provide me a valid reason, I shall look into their f6 and if it makes sense, I will leave the ban intact. If they provide me an invalid reason, I would still check the users f6, and if I determine that the ban was excessive, I would have to contact them through a voice communication service and explain to them as to why it was unjust and excessive. I would also inform them on when it is appropriate to ban, and how long these bans should be initiated for. Afterwards, if I felt the ban was excessive, I would shorten it to the time I feel is necessary. If it was an invalid ban in the first place, I would remove the ban and inform the staff member to be more careful when banning an individual from the server. If this ban, however, was clear abuse, I would consider bring them up at the meeting if I deem it imperative.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
I would first contact them through pms or admin chat and inform them that they are handling the situation wrong. I would let them know how to handle these situations and would attempt to help in the situation in order for it to be handled appropriately. I'd remind this staff member of the Staff ethos and how they should handle these types of moments in the correct manner. I would let him know that no matter how rude a user is being towards you or others, you are in no circumstances to be disrespectful towards them. You must always be calm and collected and in no way be derogatory towards users. I would also watch how they handle similar situations in the future, in order to ensure they are being consistent with the ethos and rules. If it is a struggle with a report or mute/gag, however, and they are just struggling with the commands or when to use the commands, I'd be more than happy to help him out and reassure they know exactly what they are doing, and they are comfortable with the commands and enforcing the rules.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
I would first contact the staff member who is accusing the other staff member of breaking rules. I would ask for all the required evidence and all the details of the event. I would then contact the staff member accused of breaking rules in order to hear his side of the story. If their is insufficient evidence of the staff member breaking rules or I come to the conclusion that he in fact did not, then I would dismiss the case. If their was overwhelming evidence to support the accusation, then I would inform the staff member who broke the rules about what he did wrong and would ensure it wouldn't happen again. However, if the rules they broke were extremely detrimental to the game play and server, I would possibly bring them up in a meeting if I feel it is necessary.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
Initially I would attempt to diffuse the situation before it gets more out of hand. After I successfully diffuse it, I would attempt to reach out to both staff members to understand why exactly they were arguing. If it is something game related, and they were breaking rules, I would follow the same outline as my answer to the previous question. If it was something which wasn't game related, I would ask that they both put aside their personal grudges in order to ensure the best experience for everyone on the server. I would invite them both to a spacer and try to get them to resolve their differences. If this fails, I will simply remind them that we are a staff team, so we must work together to provide the best possible service for the users on the server.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
I would inform this staff member to cease immediately, and then apologize to the users who they have affected. I would then have a conversation with the staff member and make sure he understand what he did was completely out of line and unacceptable. I would thoroughly explain how his actions are forbidden and how he must never act in such a manner again.I would ask him to apologize to all the users he affected with his reckless actions. If they show me that they have not learned or changed, I will certainly bring them up in the meeting as this type of behaviour is completely irresponsible and is not allowed in the slightest.
Extra:
I feel as though I can bare the responsibility of super administrator now, as I have, in my opinion, done an exceptional job as an administrator. I also live in North America, so I feel having a LT member which can help users at the later times would be quite beneficial. I hope I was able to prove myself in these past months, and I hope I have made everyone's experience a great one. I feel as though I can handle the added responsibilities of a Super Administrator, and my knowledge of the rules and game mode, which have been shaped with 100s of hours of activity, prove to be an important aspect when you consider me. Thanks for reading my application!
