Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin:
N/A going straight to Admin
If this is actually needed then here is my old one:
The time of me being a moderator i have already dellt with numerous of f1's that aren't just a simple check of the logs and actually require some thought. I feel like i have completed the mandatory staff requirements (Doing f1's and helping out the community when i witness situations that have broken rules). However there are situations where a moderator can't handle them as quick as it needs to be handled. For example i have encountered numerous of situations where there are mass RDM's going on and i have to scroll through the tap menu looking for the person name to try and freeze them before they do any more damage. But by the time i have found their name they have killed more people. I feel like being granted admin i will be able to respond to these situations quicker as i will be able to use my physgun to freeze them which will save time and damage. Not only that but as a moderator i feel as if i can't do my job correctly because on server 3 i get a lot of people creating f1's with the subject of 'spectate this raid to make sure they aren't rule breaking' but as i can't go invisible or fly to avoid getting in the way of the raid i can't help out the community to the standard i would like to.
Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user):
One f1 that was created by a user (Lets call him/her
user A) and
user A accused a person of Revenge RDM (lets call him/her
user B) and he also had a recording. So he gave me the recording and i brought
user A and
user B to a roof. I also showed
user B the video to let him know what he did wrong. However i then realised that the video didn't have
user B SteamID in it and it could of been someone impersonating him. However i had a gut feeling that he was in the wrong and i sent him back to spawn. I then sent myself to spawn and watched him carefully to see if he RDM'D again and he did so i could see he was in the wrong in that situation and most likely i the other one and warned him.
Lastly i have had many difficulties with me mid way of sorting a mass RDM or mass RDA out and just as I'm about to warn them they LTAP and as a moderator it is very difficult to do anything about it. I normally ask in admin chat if any can do anything about it but no one responds. I know you can wait until they rejoin to warn them but they may change their steam name or even come back another day when I'm not on. I feel like this would be easier as i would be able to punish them as necessary without having to wait for them to rejoin.
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?:
Congratulations on becoming a moderator
You are now apart of the staff family
The main bases of being a staff member are as the following:
The aim of moderation on the server is to improve the experience for people, not to interrupt people’s roleplay when it’s not necessary. Staff are there to have fun and to help others have fun too not to ban and warn everyone who breaks minor rules that have little effect on the server. Wherever possible use powers such as mute, freeze and jail instead of banning and kicking.
First of all i would like to say that the aim of a staff member is to help peoples roleplay if it is being ruined by a rule breaker by either verbally warning them if they don't understand what them have done wrong and then encourage them to read the rules to avoid anything like this happening in the future rather than skipping straight to a warning or a kick (However these should be used as appropriate).
Now onto the commands you have access to as a moderator:
/tp -
Teleports yourself to the location you're looking at (Can be binded to a key for easy access during moderator duties)
/tp [Player Name/STEAM ID] -
Teleports a player to the location you're looking at (in most cases you should use the players STEAM ID to prevent TPing the other people)
/freeze [Name/STEAM ID] + /unfreeze [Name/STEAM ID] -
Freezes/Unfreezes a selected player (Remember to unfreeze a player once you're done with him)
/back[Name/STEAM ID] + /backspawn [Name/STEAM ID] -
Returns a player back to their position or to spawn (again use the players STEAM ID to prevent returning other people)
/goto [Name/STEAM ID] -
Teleports you to a player (usually used before teleporting a player for a sit)
Punishment Commands!
/warn [STEAM ID] -
This command is used to warn a player, be sure to be certain the player has done something wrong before using this command.
/kick [STEAM ID] -
This command kicks the player from the server, usually used in the case of a prop spammer.
Use your own judgement to decide whether if this is the most appropriate punishment.
All the commands listed above can be accessed through the TAB menu, simply click on a player to obtain these commands.
I recommend using the TAB menu as it't much faster than typing out each command.
Now onto handling F1's, If you press F1, this enters you into the admin menu:
From here you can handle F1s, view warnings given out by staff, search the logs and see the active NLR.
Right click on the F1 to bring you to the drop down menu:
From here you can handle the f1. If you feel like the f1 is spam or abuse you can click that button.
Upon handling an f1 you are exposed to another menu:
From here you can goto the player (tp) or bring them to you (tp) if they need to be brought to a roof.
Once the f1 is finished make sure to click on mark as finished.
If you need a higher up rank to handle the situation click on 'abort handling this' this will make it so other staff members can handle the f1.
If you exit this menu and click on f6 you will be brought to a menu where you can search u players currently active and see their recent warnings. (Useful for deciding if the player should be warned or not)
Lastly if you need the help of fellow staff use '@' or '///' in chat to talk in admin chat.
Congratulations again and good luck.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for propspam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
I have spoken to the admin that has banned you for prop spam and we have checked that this is your first ever ban on Zarp. Although you did intentionally prop spam to lag the server/ruin peoples role-play we have come to a conclusion that a permeant ban for a member of the community that has shown regret in their actions is too harsh. congratulations we have:
your appeal.
Our conclusion is to shorten your ban to
one week. We highly recommend you check out the
rules to avoid any other situations like this again.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 150 words):
Im user but sure. Anyway I was previously Super Admin a week ago so you know I'm basically a God. Why? Why does the water flow downwards? Gravity. I am the gravity of the Zarp Staff Team. Without me it crumbles slowly. I will bring peace among all wars and most importantly stop all free kill.
