We’ve handled this report in tonight’s Community Team Meeting. We reviewed the report, the screenshots, and all relevant replies. One of us also checked the original group chat, and we spoke with both Sinz and Kronen beforehand to gather details.
As a Community Team, our top priority is user safety—especially for minors. We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for anyone trying to exploit minors on our services, and we carefully investigate every such report. This has led to many community bans over the years.
However, we also need solid evidence before handing out punishments. Reports and bans here are discussed publicly, so issuing a serious ban basically confirms we found enough proof to exclude someone from the community. Even if we remove the ban later, the user could still be stuck with a reputation as “the guy who got cm banned for being a pedo.” That can have serious real-world consequences, especially when friends or co-workers are involved in the community.
In this case, the interactions happened in a Discord group chat with six other users. The main evidence was a set of screenshots and claims that Sinz sent “inappropriate and pedophilic” messages directed at Kronen and talked about “wanting to rape” him.
Shortly after the report was posted, Kronen said Sinz deleted the worst messages. Sinz, meanwhile, denies deleting anything and says some screenshots were edited, fake, or taken out of context. When we joined the chat, certain messages were missing, but we couldn’t confirm if they were deleted or never there. Because of these conflicting explanations, we decided to only rely on the messages still present. These two were not found in the chat:
Below are the remaining screenshots and other questionable messages we found:
These mostly contain insults that break our terms of use—stuff that would normally earn a punishment on our servers—but they’re not outright pedophilic or sexually inappropriate toward a minor.
This one shows Sinz saying “go get fucked by a pedo” to someone else in the group chat. It’s obviously an inappropriate remark, especially in a space with a minor present, however the term “pedo” also gets tossed around as an insult by multiple users in this group chat and this message doesn't seem to be targetted to Kronen.
In our opinion, the questionable part is BCAT posting an image of a “naked woman” in a chat that includes a minor. Pointing to Sinz’s reply—“kronen cry” and “she is 16”—as pedophilic seems off, especially since Sinz then proceeds to call someone else a “pedo.”
Here, Sinz uses a series of insults toward Kronen and graphically describes sleeping with his mother. While it’s without a doubt inappropriate, it’s a stretch to label it pedophilic. While his comments were inappropriate, its important to mention that Kronen and others had already made jokes about “passing around his mom” in the group chat a while before this happened.
In conclusion, based on the evidence still available in the group chat, we haven’t found enough grounds to label Sinz’s remarks as pedophilic or to justify a ban for the serious accusations stated. While the insults and references are definitely inappropriate—they are not inappropriate to an extend that would warrant a punishment.
