It's actually the same thing here in Turkey as well. Once you finish university, you have to do mandatory military service. Only ways to not do so is either have a physical / mental problem, or pay money.. I think. Well honestly I'm thinking of removing my Turkish citizenship and keeping my american citizenship only, I'm not sure.. But I have a loooooooooooong road til then.. First I have to finish highschool, so far at the start of high school haha.

I like to know when I go into a combat situation the men/women watching my back are there because they chose to be, because they're passionate about what they're doing and they'll be completely focused on the situation..

I don't want my life depending on someone who doesn't want to be there, isn't focused on the situation and is looking for the quickest way out.

Don't agree with mandatory service at all, it just risks lives.
