TOPIC: The Day I Nearly Died

This time 5 years ago I was walking to school like any other day, 3 minutes into walking my vision became distorted and my ears popped. I was hit in the back of the head by a fibre glass pole thrown like a spear from a moving car(I didn't know what it was at the time) I put my hand to the back of my head to feel the pole sticking out. Trying to hold the pole in whilst running home proved hard for me and it fell out. That day I went to the local GP and they stitched it up with 5 stitches and gave me a drink that flushed my immune system out to stop infection, I got home turned the computer on to find that I couldn't actually see out of my right eye. This was when I went to the hospital to find out that I had a blood clot and that if the pole had gone any further it would've killed me. Had to undergo a 5-7 hour surgery. 21 stitches later and a titanium plat with 3 rods(looks like Mercedes logo) I was released from hospital after 3 nights. During the first week I would throw up everytime I woke up. I've just about fully recovered except I have been colour blind and still get other eye problems occasional.

Well i remember when i was put in to hospital for nearly hearth stopping when i drank energy drinks for like 10Hours straight....

Damn and here i thought i had a scary surgery . Where they had to remove a bacteria out of my deep earcanal because it would eat its way to my brain and kill me

that must have been a really horrible experience but im glad you survived,

ive also had a scary situation when i was 12 and had fun with my friends at a new years eve party and chased after eachother and i was the one being chased not looking infront if me while running (which was the only thing i remember since it kinda blacked out from there) but my friends told me i ended up hitting my forehead on a wooden statue and i started bleeding so i got rushed to a hospital and got stitches and had to stay there for 2 nights before going home

Can't really think of the appropriate response for something like this, sounds like it was a horrible experience. We're all happy that you made it out okay and that's it has improved to the point of how it is today.

We all glad that you made a recovery. The whole experience must have been terrible.

These things unfortunately happen in life. When i was 11 years old my Grandpa was driving me to school. My house is close to a mountain so there are many downhills. Suddenly my Grandpa got dizzy and lost control. Our car flipped over and glided down the road. We were both inside and when the car stopped gliding we managed to get out with the help of other people that gathered around. The car's engine was on fire. If people didn't extinguish the fire on time, the car would have exploded and we would be dead. Likely we were both fine without a scratch!
Don't think about what happened and continue doing the things you love!

It really amazes me that there are people this stupid (I'm talking about the people who threw the fiber glass pole ) also , why did they even throw it. I hope that your problems you have got from this does not hinder you to much because you only live once if you know what I mean

Gee I may not of had a near death experience but, I imagine you'd be really scared but I am sure you and everyone else is happy you've recovered.

The person who threw the pole, intent was to scare me for whatever reason, they intended to join the army as well but they can't now as they were charged with attempted manslaughter. The driver was on their Restricted license and are not allowed to legally drive with passengers if the person in the front seat doesn't have their full(drove with 5 passengers) their license was revoked.
