One Year Anniversary {You are the Walrus}

One year anniversary of Zarp.
I honestly can't believe that I've spent this amount of dedication and time towards a fantastic community. I've been in one or two gaming communities before, but I've never felt that electric feel to it. The reason to that might be that they were Minecraft communities, and we all know what Minecraft communities are like; ranging from Survival, RPG to Voltz gamemodes.
I bought Garry's Mod at an expense of two euro and fifty cent when it was on sale alongside Farming Simulator 2013 when Yogscast recorded it. That was around the time of Christmas. That was also the time I created my Steam profile. My first username was "EpicXphos" which my friends thought it was stupid. Then came names like "Sherlock Vrooms Bananas" ( Which I remember making it when I watched that Robert Downey's "A Game of Shadows" flick and suddenly became a Sherlock Holmes fan, it happens. ) But before that, my friend and me played Team Fortress 2 and he really helped me improve in the game and trading.
When I launched Garry's Mod in 2013, I was stupid. Textures were missing, couldn't play servers without seeing pink and black errors. So I quit Garry's Mod; that was the end of that period, simple as that. I kept playing Team Fortress 2, then got into Steam trading cards and gave away my hats and weapons to my old friend exchange for his lot of trading cards. After a while, I booted up Garry's Mod one more time to fix this error. As people say; third time's the charm. I followed tutorials on how to fix it and it worked. I joined "Prophunt" on the infamous Everyone's a Banana server. I played there for a couple of days, socialized with people and had a great time. Until I stopped playing that gamemode. This is where Zarp is coming piece by piece. I joined the Zarp deathrun server. It's a mist in my mind, but I recall around fifteen players and the super-admin, Lisol. At this time, I was a beginner at this game. Everytime I would die, I would see Lisol just talking in his microphone and bhopping like it was a walk in the park. On the second day (I believe), I've met people like Rebel and Tom. I wanted to start bhopping, so a admin by the name of ThatNorwegainFaggot excuse the name showed me the roots and stem of bhopping. On the same day was when I started to improve; winning rounds and learning most of the maps by heart.
On the 29th of May, 2014, I created an account here. I was foolish enough to post a moderator application on the same day. You can find it here: Walrus' First Application
While we're on the topic of this, for my own sake and insanity, I need to comment on my application.
Warning: Spoiler![ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ]
Application is very rushed, improve it.
Won't include gametime as back then it was good. #Narcissism
OR if he's being disrespectful to others by mic ( Saying bad words to a person ) I would mute him/Mic spamming too and warn them.
You forgot to mention the commands gag/kick.
Could do with expanding it a little further.
My grammar is perfect o and sometimes say things that are not grammar wise like '' Why u do dis '' but that's just me.
Are you serious Past-Walrus?
I don't curse mostly and don't rage. I'll be checking the website now and then to check what's new and old.
I do curse and don't rage; that is true.
Look where we are now Past-Walrus, No1 poster. You lied.
-Stay Classy, Walrus
You stay classy as well; oh wait, we stayed classy ever since then. He.
I remember the anxiety feeling if I would be accepted or denied. I would check my application a few hours until the meeting came and I got accepted. Then afterwards, it became east. Mind you, I never was a moderator on a Garry's Mod server only for Minecraft, but I learned the ropes real quick.
I can't believe I achieved such ranks from TTT super-admin to Forum's Section Mod. My bucket list will never be completed, because with every new person joining, it gets added on.
I might as well list the people that made my time here great. (List won't go in a particular order):
Charlie
Tomvtv
Hitmen Jerry
Blocked
Gigisaur
Harridas
ReaperRoel (Even though you screwed up)
Nexize
Hoi
Scorpion
Victor
Wallcop
UltimateSpaceMan (Untied Spam Minges we stand!)
Manya
RandomDude
Lightarrows
LineLiar
RedPowder
DCX
EMPGaming
ChuteBox
P0rtalShooter
Rayman
Zeronix
Ace

LazyBro (I won't be leaving a list without you)
RedWingz
ChubbyFruit
MusicCat
Exrobite
Spadille
Dishonorable mentions!:
AlmostLost
AllThatJazz
Moganskoda
...And a special mention for the people that made my day until I banned them.
It's been a crazy ride; featuring large events like picking the new community manager to controversy. But, as a community, we still thrive and that's what makes a gaming community. We are still here, even as now and then massive resignations appear from dedicated admins or others disappoint us with their actions even though we never accepted.
I personally seem to have improved from the new kid down the street to what I am now. Attaching along new hobbies; such as anime. A funny story was me and Lightarrows arguing about Dragon Ball Z and then later on, I checked out an anime and simply enjoyed it.
Another part of me improved was the detail I see around me. Whereas it was drawing, application viewing or meanings behind things.
I hope we have great years ahead of us; even though it's rhetorical and we all know that won't be true.
To whoever is new and joined this community; Welcome. Hope you enjoy your stay!
To whoever is applying for a position here; I hope you make the cut and do take the feedback provided by others as it improves you and a greater chance of getting it.
Just remember this quote from "Whiplash";
I was there to push people beyond what's expected of them. I believe that's an absolute necessity.
Don't always take the easy route and life. Do what is the unexpected but expected.
