True. Decent players but they barely tried. They just showing up doing minimal work. England on the other hand is tryharding their asses of to finally get their gold medals. It's so hilarious how the country with such a large football culture has failed so miserably. I think the edgyness of "it's coming home": assuming victory beforehand was how they keep failing. This time around the French will kick them out. Love it.

Our football hooligans started chanting it's coming home from the moment we won the first game in the group stages, even though Iran was literally a free game. :pinch:

Senegal is also free, but just wait. The French are kicking u guys out.

They have good players tbh but they have the same issue as Argentina. Too much ego centrism around mbappe and giroud. Everyone just playing around a few of the really high rated players. Tbh elo rating matters not as much as ppl think. Japan isn't known for producing great players yet stomped on the Germans :woohoo:

France doesn't have Zlatan fever cause Mbappe is really young and Giroud is quite old and was never as good as Ronaldo/Messi/Zlatan etc. They play well and Mbappe is actually scoring quite consistently. Their whole team is at a very high level so it's not as much ego-ism as it is when Messi is the only good player in Argentina. Argentina is playing well this time around though cause they have some more good ones like Alvarez, L and E Martinez and Dí María.

Elo matters quite a bit. Germany just has a poor coach and content players that play well in leagues but don't seem to bother trying to win this WC. Maybe because they're demoralized from Qatar.

No idea why but the giants filled with superstars are all performing like trash. Spain in particular doesn't have Messi syndrome so I'm not sure why they are so unable to score goals. 80% ball possession but nobody in their team even tries to make anything happen.

That’s true, he had the lowest team rating as well, he’s just a goat and his longevity has been extremely impressive, he also pissed the coach off because he was complaining about how he got benched against South Korea. Ig what I should say is that it’s crazy that the team did better without him, he’s a character tho and he makes me laugh so it’s a little sad

Croatia is working hard, 63rd minute and it’s still 0-0 against Brazil.
Croatia- 4 shots - 0 on goal
Brazil- 7 shots - 5 on goal
Who thinks there’s a possible upset?

brazil could be winning 3-0 if they took their chances. Neymar looks dead in this game. Croatia are performing well but they dont have nearly as much threat so i dont see anything else other than a brazil W happening tbh unless croatia can hold them off and score a cheeky counter attack goal

Croatia has done it in penalty kicks, this game was all about momentum and croatias goalie kept it all game for them, what a match.
