Had to vote online school, to be honest. Going to school has a certain level of usefulness to it, there are definitely people to whom going to normal school would be better e.g. those who slack off and instead play games. But for the ones that can manage to keep their head focussed on their work I feel that doing it from home is much more beneficial.
- In my specific case: doing school from home gives me a familiar environment in which I'm fully comfortable.
- It removes the need for asking for bathroom breaks, whenever you have breaks in between lessons you can simply enjoy the break however you'd want.
- I don't need to pack my bag and thus can't forget anything.
- I don't have to make a half-hour bike ride travelling 20km a day to go to school and back which also means I can also get up later which means more sleep.
- And I am able to use my PC, which I enjoy using more and permits me to be more productive than on my laptop which I have to use for school.
- And it has to be said, not being outside reduces your chance to catch the Corona Virus, something which I do my best to avoid getting as to not infect anyone more vulnerable to it than myself. Such as my 60-70+ yo parents.
I do agree, things hanging with friends is fun (sometimes)! But as someone who spends break with a small group of up to 1 - 4 people which I know digitally as well as in real life that "benefit" is something I'll without a doubt be willing to give up for the other benefits listed above.
All and all, to me, online classes are much better, more convenient and generally keep me more productive. But for some other people, it's a bad idea, it'll give them a distraction with no way for teachers to check.
