i mean i was introduced to it at a young age and i have direct access to it now yet i don't have an issue with it at all and know well how to enjoy it in moderation, the taboo of being constantly denied access to it not actually being there definitely helps with that because it never felt like i was missing out

I think the concern comes fomr the mother "making" him try it, with a total disregard for his choice, drinking is incredibly harmfull to people especially young people and the development of the brain hence the age restriction.
