Honestly - Tekken 7 is actually quite a bit of fun. Especially a month or two after new characters are released, mostly for two reasons: 1) Not every player you bump into online plays the new character, and 2) The new character (I'm looking at you, Leroy) gets nerfed to actually be someone you can play against.

Of the seven fighters out at the minute that're maintaining any modicum of popularity (Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11, Soul Calibur 6, Dead or Alive 6, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Dragon Ball Fighterz and Street Fighter 5) Tekken and Mortal Kombat are the ones on every platform that retain consistently high popularity (Smash is hands down the most popular on the Switch, but that's probably because it's only available on the Switch). That said, MK11 is being left out of EVO this year, which is unfortunate. But yeah, if you're looking for a really versatile fighting game with a lot of competitive bones to it, Tekken 7 is probably the best option, right next to Mortal Kombat 11. Soul Calibur 6 and Dead or Alive 6 are both really lacking in popularity (though Soul Calibur 6 is actually being played in EVO, and the character customization is brilliant). Fighterz and Street Fighter are both fun, but Fighterz is very intense, and there are some characters who are almost broken, and Street Fighter doesn't actually seem to hold as much gravity and intensity as other fighters just now.

That aside, I do find it sad that this went from a tease thread about beating someone on Tekken 7 to people arguing about Valorant. Never played it myself, but live and let live, y'know? Why's it such a big deal for someone to play a game they're not interested in? And by the same token, why should you judge someone for playing a certain game in the first place? Just seems like you're finding reasons to get mad at each other.
