'bout time we have someone that cares about TTT in the CM team
Excuse me?
You aren't here anymore
And Xnator is.. well... Xnator
Xnator is the man behind the Pointshop updates nerd
You also have a Server Owner who
should be more than capable of co-coordinating with the CM team what should be done to the server from both a content and functionality perspective
I should probably expand on this in a bit more detail. My initial response more or less looks like a call-out more than anything else, of which, I never really intended it to be.
Being able to suggest something and actually be able to change something are two completely different things. For example, you can be promoted to Server Owner with your X amount of great ideas.. but who's to say the CM team would like/allow any of them?
My initial, rash, analysis has come from my experience as Server Owner of Deathrun; my suggestions - including those who have reiterated previous suggestions that were never looked at properly - have never really been blocked/stopped unless it's downright silly or impossible.
I can see why Server Owners of Pointshop servers sometimes feel left out - there's an argument to be had that SSRP is always top of the priority list. Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that Clarky, DEAD or Chute don't give a shit about these servers, I just get the feeling that they don't always get the same level of attention and/or care.
This is something I've been pondering about for quite some time and would be formally conceptualised into a goal that I would aim to achieve as a CM - if applications ever opened and if I was ever fortunate enough to be accepted.
TL;DR there is definitely work that can be done to improve the overall quality of care put into the other Pointshop servers but it isn't all on the CM team. There's a bridge there between the Server Owner(s), corresponding lead team and the CM team itself in order to deliver a high-quality solution to this problem
I just get a bit salty at the sound of the old: "Grr, we need a CM that cares about X server" when they have a priority to manage the community on a more global level
Just to put this out there for users and the like, being in charge of the Pointshop, I have wanted to ensure transparency between Community Team, Server Owners and users and make changes in this regard.
I am trying to make sure that no singular Pointshop server gets overly "prioritised" above others, rather updating the Pointshop as a whole and integrating changes from the Pointshop to be linked to any new content between the servers. This does not mean that there will not be new content for servers such as TTT, just that it will be better planned out to coincide with the other servers, and will have more content which can be extended and linked across the Pointshop as a whole. You should be able to understand what I mean by this based on upcoming Pointshop updates, and I am sure that users and staff of all servers will enjoy the server specific and Pointshop-wide content that is coming.
As a part of this plan, I have created a new "Tasks" system which will allow for anyone, be it a user, staff member or Server Owner to create new tasks which Server Owners+ can assign to the relevant people. The aim of this system is to ensure that everyone can see the basic roadmap of what is happening with the Pointshop servers and what is being worked on by the Server Owners+.
Obviously this system has some things such as integral update content and bugs marked as "Confidential", meaning that it will only be available for the Server Owners+ of the relevant server to view.
I will explain this system in more detail at some point, most likely within the thread of the next update, however I hope that it will help for people to understand better what is being done.
