Gonna be great

The term "racist" gets threw around too often, it's a rather bold statement to make without any statistics behind it.

And just curious, do you live in the UK or have you visited?

And Germany is not full of "racists" from what I have seen there is only one word to sum it up YIKES, Britain did fine on its own for hundreds of years I'm sure we can cope with the backlash from leaving the EU.

At the end of the day, we just have to let it run its course what happens happens.

I don't particularly want to join in this discussion - it's way more trouble than its worth - but you're forgetting the fact that times have changed compared to before. With globalism becoming increasingly more important England will need to get a good trade deal with the EU to be able to avoid an economic backlash that lasts several years. Such a deal will mean that the UK will have to abide by certain EU laws (such as, for example, immigration - and control of that was one of the reasons why the UK voted for Brexit in the first place) but will lose its right to vote in the process.

There's quite literally nothing to gain from any kind of EU exit in this day and age. Don't get me wrong, the UK will end up just fine, but it'll either end up with a deal that makes the Brexiteers feel like their reasons for leaving were ignored, putting the Torries and especially May in a rather precarious position. Or the UK will leave without any kind of deal, putting the UK in a difficult economic position that, once again, puts May in a difficult position.

Basically May won't survive the Brexit. She'll be known as the Prime Minister that leaded the UK throughout the Brexit but no further. Which really isn't a great way to go into the history books.

Seen on the news this morning that the UK gov wouldn't pay the £39bn non-mandatory 'divorce' fee if we get a bad deal. Now who in the right mind would pay a non-mandatory fee regardless of the fucking outcome?

And after Article 13 got passed yesterday I'm supportive of Brexit tbh. Apparently a bunch of the MEPs didn't have a clue on what they were voting for/against.

Holy shit. My Parliamentary Government came into my room to bring me a referendum and I literally screamed at it and voted REMAIN. It started yelling and swearing at me and I screamed that Islam is a religion of peace at it. I’m so distressed right now I don’t know what to do. I didn’t mean to do that to my country but I’m literally in shock from the results tonight. I feel like I need a Scottish Car Bomb. Why the fucking fuck is Remain losing? This can’t be happening. I’m having a fucking breakdown. I don’t want to believe the world is so unloving of peaceful Muslims. I want a future to believe in. I want to stay in the EU and fix this broken country. I cannot fucking deal with this right now. It wasn’t supposed to be like this, I thought the public knew that this will for sure crash the world's economy???? why aren't people fucking compassionate???? This is so fucked.

People fail to realise that EU is not the only option; there are other opportunities out there just waiting to be used: First and foremost they could work very well with the US but I also see nordic countries, especially Norway since they're not even involved in EU directly. Sure the infrastructure is based on good relationships with the EU but it's not a mandatory solution to be apart of such a big community. It's going to take time to rebuild a new system, but it will be for the better.

Countries like Sweden, England, Denmark, Germany and France are paying towards a cause that other countries leech off. I'm not saying this to be rude but it's a fact that we pay huge sums of money for a few benefits in return. The system is basically extremely unfair and too capitalistic.

But I don't mean to trash on EU that much. In my building there are about 60-70% students from EU specific countries, eg: Italy, Slovakia. I'd say that's one of the greatest benefits. There is also medical care, but really when it comes to most other things I don't really see why Sweden for instance pays €5 Billion every year towards this scam. Sure we had some countries helping us extinguish fires this summer but I doubt that's worth the year fee we pay every year.

I do have a lot of respect for Brexit and I believe it's a brave thing to leave. I hope to see Sweden leave as well (Currently about 20-30% wants to leave, depending which source you listen too).

I'd like to emphasise that I meant in the long-run. Give it ten years or so, and the UK's economic troubles will be behind her. Which makes complete sense from an economic standpoint - currently, nobody knows what might happen to the country economically, so investors don't want to invest any money in businesses there. This will harm its economy in the short-term. Once everything has stabilised and there's more economic certainty the country will attract investors once more.

In other words, it's too soon to say whether or not the UK is actually fucked. For a start it heavily depends on the deal it will make with the EU, and there's also a definite chance that those who voted for Brexit will turn out to be completely right. But it's too soon to make assumptions from either side regarding the matter. One thing that is definitely true is that the UK will enter a time of uncertainty, both economically and politically. I'd argue the risks are too great to decide to leave the EU, but if it does actually turn out just fine in the end it won't be that surprising for other countries to follow suite in five to ten years.
