According to Xnator, he would have won if he hadn't added the shards system at the last minute as he couldn't properly bug test and put to his highest standard. That's what lost him some of his points which meant he lost to Dead.

That's highly debatable, as in the results, Xnator's code which he hadn't rushed, had a lot more points than Dead's meaning he probably bug checked it a lot more. Then, the one thing which Xnator tried to put into his system to make it a lot more unique wasn't too successful with a few bugs.
