Hello everyone. I have been working on an edit for the new server 2 map (rp_downtown_evilmelon_v1) to use on ZARP. I just finished the final compile, it’s almost perfect, but some props (very few) look very shiny. Other than that, here’s what I changed/added:

1-Deleted the “EM servers” ads found on billboards
2-Added an Admin area like on server 1 (can be used for events)

3-Added mines near the forest

4-Added Admin/Mod training area

5-Added a new secret teleport (shh I won’t say anything :p)
Please change the current server 2 map to this one (rp_downtown_evilmelon_v2) as soon as possible !!
And what you all have been waiting for, the final final version of : rp_downtown_evilmelon_zarp_v1

Anyways guys, let me know what you think about this edit, try it out ! :)

Note(how to try it): Download the file in the link, unrar the download, then place the map in Steam/SteamApps/common/GarrysMod/garrysmod/download/map
After that go on Gmod and start a new game, you will find this map in the roleplay section of available maps...

Did you get the actual .vmf or did you decompile it?

Decompiling it will break things such as ladders and custom textures.

I decompiled it, but I fixed all of the ladders and I extracted the custom textures to the hammer directory and got them working. Only some props look like metal rather than wood (very few). Other than that, try it out :D

UPDATE:
- Made a non-stop tram that moves from near the forest area to the bank, and vice-versa. It's door is always open so people can get in and out whenever they want. It looks simple and doesn't have a visible track, but it's good and fun for transportation.

Can we not have the tram? I think it'll stop our cars... Either that or make it higher, so cars don't crash.

It won't, most of the area it covers is not for cars, and the parts where it does cars can still pass...

You need to change your HDR settings or just recompile without HDR if you don't understand how to do it correctly.

UPDATE:
-Added tram tracks

-Added another secret teleport (Only accessible by noclippers)

-Added the textures to the bsp, if you get any missing textures do tell...

-Added the TDM arena on server 1 (2 buildings facing each other)

-Fixed the shiny props issue, everything looks as it should now. HDR is still enabled, so it still looks fancy :p

As long as I am in ZARP I will update the map every now and then... Oh, I changed the name to rp_downtown_evilmelon_v1_zarp.

Why does everything look so bright still?

You need to remove that tram, it looks so ugly and terrible. You put like no effort into it at all, having tracks just climbing onto the pavement and turning at a 90 degree angle. If you can't do something good please do not do it.

I'm not sure if you've used hammer before, but it isn't easy to edit a map. The tram and track took me like 2-3 hours to make (no the tram is not a model), and it's not only about aesthetics... It's more like usability and fun, it's a nice addition and it can always be deleted with a Remover ingame if they don't want it (Lead team, Chute, EMP,...) . If you try out the map you'll realize that the train turns 90 degrees on any corner. That's how it works... Anyways try the map and tell me what you think about the other things :p

You shouldn't be adding 'secret teleports' if you want this to be used. It's an RP map.

Anyone can find and use the first teleport, I just didn't state where it is or what it does, that's why it's a secret :p
The second can only be accessed by noclippers, and I called it secret for the same reason.

Anyways try out the map and tell me what you think of the whole edit in general :)

Alright guys, I now finished the Final(final) version of the map. It can now be used on server 2... All minor updates to the map have been finished. I have some other things to add in mind, though they will need some time... Anyways here's what's changed in the latest version:

-Changed train to the one on townsend_v2 (smaller though)

-Added cables that are connected to the track

-Fixed a minor issue with misplaced brushes

-Edited the tracks to look more reaslistic

Please add this it's far better than the horrible version of downtown being used!!!!!!!
But please remove the trams they are completely unnecessary.
