So I thought I’d talk about the current situation with how the lead team is trying to gain players and run events however as
the football event that Dutchcat was trying to host got cancelled because of a lack of players. Now I’d also like to mention that in no way shape or form am I trying to ‘shit talk’ the SSRP staff members, I am fully understanding that they’re putting in a lot of effort to schedule these events by building an arena, what time to host it, managing the event, etc, hell even when I was HA/CM I worked my ass off into planning some events so I understand what it’ll be like to be in their position. While the event was announced on it starting, I kept an eye on Gametracker for SSRP server one to see if anyone would even join and I only saw less than 10 users and a couple staff members. To be honest, I was expecting the event to fail before it even started because of the things I’ll be mentioning later on in this post. What I have to say is purely constructive criticism and I’d like to ask to prevent any drama in this thread so it can remain an open discussion. I’ll begin explaining in separate paragraphs so it doesn’t become an eyesore.
The Forum Announcement Post
The entire announcement thread just looked incredibly unattractive and in no way would it convince someone to come on the server. What happened to using banners? Banners do draw attention as it brings interest on what to expect from that announced event, I’ve seen these plenty of times in previous events such as the Hitman event so why not this one is something I’m wondering about, even including a timer towards the event would really bring some form of hype. If any future events are going to be hosted and you need a banner, send me a message on Discord and I’ll be more than happy to design a banner.
The Prizes
While it is incredibly appreciated that prizes are being given out that have decent value and uses behind them, it simply isn’t sufficient enough to draw much attraction as evidently shown. Why not give out a case of more high value such as a hoverboard case or whatever the name of that new case is with effects coming out of it? (I forgot the name if someone could correct me on this)
A Nano Suit is a pretty neat prize and it’s obviously donated out of Dutchcat’s pockets so that is as always much appreciated and I am glad to see his generosity towards the community, don’t be discouraged by what I’ve said.
Just remember that the bigger the prize is, the more likely you are to attract players.
Lack of Explanation in the Announcement
When hosting an event, you should put effort and detail into the announcement such as explaining what the event is all about, in this instance with it being a football event you could’ve mentioned the required goals to meet in order to win the event, how the event is structured, there’s even a website that will allow you to manage a tournament table called challonge, here is a link to a tournament I hosted with KapiJam which was extremely successful:

Making the topic more informative gives a lot of clarity, especially when you include rules too so you can avoid confusion once the event has started in case something is not mentioned.
Conclusion
To end things on more of a positive note, thanks to those who put time and effort into hosting events for SSRP. I understand it’s quite difficult to draw in players at the moment and you’re trying everything within your power to draw attention to the servers again but there is a lot of stuff that need to be changed along with what I’ve stated in this topic. I don’t want to end up derailing the topic about the event situation as I’ve already stated in multiple previous posts on my solution to most likely fixing the ongoing issues SSRP has had for a while and some more recent. Hopefully I’ve been as transparent as I possibly can be and mentioned all the issues that I’ve seen and if you have anything to add on, leave a response so improvements can be made.
