i legit wasnt saying anything in chat i said that one thing and got instantly muted u can clearly see a few more people saying his name in chat and were never muted or warned to stop

If these chat logs are correct your denial reason makes no sense as it was stated that "Multiple people did it and were told to stop" implying you did it because of others. However, in these logs it shows that you were the first person to say it, didn't get told to stop and only said it one time?

Surely this could’ve been dealt with much more appropriately by approaching the user and asking them to not do it again or putting in OOC discussion of banned members will lead to mute. A mute right off the bat just doesn’t seem right to me even when your chat message didn’t even seem malicious either.
