TOPIC: [SSRP] Jaden's Ban Appeal

Reason - What is/might be the reason that you got banned? Interrupting Events (again)

Time - How long were you banned for? 1 day
Story - What happened? Well, there was a nuke going on where all the nukers were gun dealers, which is a rule break in itself (but that's beside the point), and one of the rules was no arresting. What I did was tase the people nuking as they were wanted, not breaking any of the rules, and I just get banned without any warning. I am apparently a second time offender for this too? when I don't really even play the server anymore. I'm so confused about why you want to get rid of your player base so badly as I really didn't do anything wrong.
Proof - Any proof on a video/screenshot that clearly show what happened? no
Extra Information - Any thing you think may be relevant to your ban. Why do you want everyone banned all the time??? I never even broke any rules in the event, plus even if I did why would I get banned for interrupting a nuke which is in an illegal location and being started / defended by jobs that can't even do nukes? This is just clear abuse, and I know this is going to get denied due to the lead team circle jerk that's going on. Furthermore, isn't there a simpler solution than just flat out banning me for nothing? It's always straight to the ban hammer now which is soo depressing loll


When was I told not to do this countless times? Plus why were other people only job banned yet I was banned from the server? If I was told not to do this, I want the chat log of you explicitly telling me'

I banned you because I had heard you were doing this in the same event and were already told not to. The ban is mainly because the precedent should be set that when we go out of our way to put up fun events and put our own items on the line, it isn't exactly what we want to see when we have a bunch of people that try to ruin the event itself by breaking rules we've set. They should be told not to, and if they continue and go out of their way to ruin the experience for everyone a 1 day ban is very fair here.

I think it's just a misunderstanding but it's common sense to not taze.

Aight, so. I can see where both ends are coming from here, yes I'll have to support Morgan that it is super easy not to taze someone and I can definitely see how this could be disruptive to the events and avoidable, however, there is another side to consider here.

By hosting an event, which by the way is not the duty of a staffmember you would (at least back in the day) be required to take a space possibly outside of the RP area as failure to do so will disrupt the gameplay for plenty of people who might just want to base there or be passing through, in addition, it can also be confusing for new players as they might see the wanted people and try to arrest them anyway. Yes I am aware that the current appeal is not made by a new player but still that point is valid

Also, Admins, Moderators, Super Admins, and Head Admins are given powers to Enforce the Rules and guess what? There are no rules for events. I do think it is fine to punish a player that might be disruptive during an event lightly such as a jail or at most a warning but you should keep in mind that when hosting events in a publicly available area you are actively disturbing the roleplaying and opening yourself to possible interference from both trolls and new players.

I would've been okay with this happening had it been in an admin area, where no normal player can get to but in this case you are holding an event in an openly accessible space that was reserved for gameplay. In this current situation, you are using your powers for something for which they are not intended. And I don't mean to say events are bad, I think they are great. But they should be run in places where the impact on gameplay is minimal for the masses who do not wish to participate.

In the end, I think to BAN someone for this is outrageous, a jail or a warning would've been more than sufficient. And next time: I recommend you take your Events back into the admin area where they belong where trolls cannot reach it to interfere with it. And before I get replies such as:


You better get building, you have 70 props per willing person to help and that should be plenty. In the end, I'm going to support this appeal as it was way too harsh of a response for something so trivial to begin with and if I was ever to hand out a ban for it, it would be AT MOST an hour for an extreme case of repeat-offending.
