-Support.
If you want that, go and play GangWarsRP or TerritorialRP.
We already have a handful of gangs on #1. They just need recognition.
Well, why not make a section in the forums about gangs and factions?
Just telling you guys now, this is a bad idea.
Why is it a bad idea?
Even since the start of ZARP, it has had gangs. Groups of friends that base and raid togheter. The only difference is they are now giving themselves names etc.
Don't get me wrong, I base with my friends and raid together all the time. But having a dedicated gang system, allowing lots of people to join would be a mess. I don't want to have 2 gangs of 40 people on the server, or gangs going up to 100 members.
Next thing you know, there will be levels, upgrades, and points for the gang.
You're right. However there is only a limited amount of gangster and thieve jobs. So you'll never really have to fear a overlooking force.
To be honest, I don't like to raid a base with 8 gangsters, 3 thieves, a mob boss, 2 black market dealers, 3 guards, and a masterthief inside.
They can do that without an official title, BMD cannot base with gangsters.
I know they can. But making official gangs will make people join gangs. It will most likely end up with lots of little gangs, of friends that have 2-3 people and then 4-5 mega-gangs with 20+ members.
I really don't like this. Play GangWarsRP or TerritorialRP and see how the gang with the most members dominates the server, making it impossible for new players to join and start making money.
It will be hard but not impossible.
Picture this, a new player joining, putting down a single sapphire printer and setting up a mediocre base, with only a desert eagle to defend himself.
All of a sudden, 7 gangsters, a masterthief and 2 theives start throwing grenades over the walls, pull out their M249s and start spraying anything that moves. They kill the new player and take his printer. New player gets pissed and leaves, thus loosing a new player.
If that happens, we will never get new players.
I've experienced this first hand.
