Did you try to uninstall the gpu drivers and reinstall them by the official site that supports (said) gpu drivers? Basically, this is what's happening: 100% driver issue? AMD, intel or NVidia gpu |

Are there any other things that cause this issue?

First thing you need to consider if it is a hardware issue or not. As you said a restart fixes the problem however try seeing if it occurs when lets say you pick up your laptop or put it down etc. If it is a hardware issue I recommend reading the warranty and seeing how can you get it fixed. If it's not a hardware issue then do the following.
Most likely thing I can think of is that the graphical driver is bugging out when trying to load a GUI. As you said this happened after a Win10 update which can cause the malfunction. In this case try to re-install the display adapter driver(s). If you have a GPU in your PC then it will go under that name if not and you only have e.g. an I7 CPU then it will go under the name Intel HD Graphics. I think you get the idea. Here is how to update or uninstall the drivers just make sure you re-download a new one to avoid other issues. Remove or Update Drivers:
If none of the things have worked from above I recommend recovering your laptop to the previous windows update. Here is how to do that. For a limited time after upgrading to Windows 10, you’ll be able to go back to your previous version of Windows by selecting the Start button > Settings > Update & security > Recovery and selecting Get started under Go back to the previous version of Windows 10. This will keep your personal files, but it'll remove apps and drivers installed after the upgrade, as well as any changes you made to settings. In most cases, you'll have 10 days to go back. If you need help with anything just message me on steam or post it here. Hopefully this has helped! |

Instead of restarting it, try using the sleep mode on your laptop, it can help quite a few problems that may require a full restart. Try this if the problem still occurs after attempts to fix it.What do you mean "fucks up" It begins flickering and I can't follow the mouse properly. Whenever it happens I have to carefully find out where my mouse actually is so I can click on the restart function.Sadly that issue has happened to my pc before but I forgot how I fixed it, I am pretty sure it was before my pc got the black screen of death. Which I needed to get my pc completely wiped to make it actually work. If all the other options do not work, try a complete wipe of the system only if you've ran out of options. |

Basically, this is what's happening: Hey! I can see my self in there! If you have another screen or projector you can try and use that and if it still glitches out then it's gotta do something with the laptop it's self, if on the other screens it works just fine then it's just your laptop screen. |
