ZARP Policies

Doxing Policy

1. Introduction:

The purpose of this policy is to protect members of the ZARP Gaming community from doxing – the act of maliciously gathering and sharing private and personally identifiable information without consent. ZARP strives to maintain a safe and respectful environment across its platforms, servers and services.

2. Definition of Doxing:

Doxing is defined as the act of publicly revealing or threatening to reveal personally identifiable information (PII) or private details about an individual without their explicit consent. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Full legal names
  • Home or IP addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Private social media profiles
  • School or workplace details
  • Family or associates
  • Personal documents or images

The information listed above is only considered "private" in the context of doxing, if it was not previously shared or intentionally made publicly accessible on ZARP or any other public platform. There may be instances where sharing publicly posted information might still be considered doxing (e.g. Information posted publicly a long time ago on an obscure website that compromises the security of an individual). These instances will be handled by the Community Team on a case by case basis.

3. Scope of Enforcement:

When it comes to investigating instances of doxing and subsequently handing out punishments, our capabilities are primarily bound to the platforms we moderate. Any instance of doxing on our services should be reported to the Community Team and will be investigated thoroughly. The following are examples of such platforms:

  • Any official ZARP Game Server
  • ZARP Forums
  • ZARP's Official Discord Server
  • ZARP’s Official Steam Group

When it comes to dealing with doxing outside these officially moderated platforms, we are generally presented with a more limited ability to collect proof as well as limited capabilities of punishing the user publishing the personal information. As such, while we will still do our best to investigate serious instances (either in severity or quantity) of doxing related to members of our community outside our officially moderated platforms on a case by case basis, your best course of action for those situations is to report the user on the relevant platform directly.

4. Prohibited Behavior:

The following actions are strictly prohibited within the scope described above:

  • Posting or sharing doxed information of other users
  • Threatening to dox anyone in the ZARP community
  • Encouraging, assisting, or organizing doxing activity on ZARP platforms
  • Attempting to collect sensitive personal data about another ZARP user for malicious purposes

5. Consequences:

Doxing is a serious offense on ZARP platforms. Any verified incident of doxing that falls under our scope may result in:

  • Community Ban – Immediate and permanent bans from all ZARP servers and services.
  • Communication Ban (SSRP-specific) – Full communication mute on the SSRP server.
  • Loss of ranks, roles, or permissions, including staff roles.
  • In extreme cases, if there are safety concerns, we may recommend users contact legal authorities.

No warnings are required for doxing-related offenses.

6. False or Malicious Reports:

Submitting false accusations of doxing to harass or punish another user is a serious offense. This will be handled as abuse of the report system and may lead to bans or other disciplinary actions.

7. Reporting and Staff Responsibility:

If you witness or are affected by doxing on any ZARP platform, report it immediately to a staff member or via the forums. All reports are handled confidentially and with urgency. Staff are required to:

  • Secure all relevant evidence (chat logs, screenshots, etc.)
  • Involve the Community Team
  • Avoid disclosing any information about victims or investigations publicly

8. Policy Updates:

This policy is subject to change at the discretion of the ZARP Community Team in response to evolving threats, platform features, or community needs.
