TOPIC: Make FP Great Again

For those who aren't aware almost 2 1/2 years ago the Friendly Player's Reboot Update was announced, promising a huge update to our Semi-Serious DarkRP server (one of the highest ranked Garry's Mod servers in it's prime) and community as a whole. Unfortunately that update has yet to be released, and our forums have been reduced to bot spam and the occasional "What happened to FP?" post whenever old players stumble upon the site.

Seeing as how the forums and DarkRP server haven't been shut down completely yet something must be happening with it. So, Zarp, do you support Friendly Players? Would you be willing to put off upcoming Zarp updates so Chute and EMP can focus on finishing the FP Reboot?

zarp ssrp has had more then enough updates, i think its time to give FP a chance. Ive always wanted to play there

I'd love to see the FP alive again, but i dont think the zarp updates should stop.. i know it would be bunch of work but if i had to choose i would stick with zarp..

I'd say after the Summer Update is a good time to start really kicking into gears on the promised and much anticipated REBOOT UPDATE. This gives them a while before the next update, and a good amount of time to code the claimed 'almost finished' reboot.

well i gonna be that one guy that is against this sadly.
In my opinion is Chute and EMP having too much to take care of already, and that's not caused by the upcoming updates for the server. ofc. when they get time they will start coding on the updates aswell, which i personally thinks would be awesome for the future of zarp.

I would love to see FP get back on track aswell tho, but to be fair i think it shouldn't be chute or emp doing the updates

Yeah it'd be nice. I'd also like a million pounds please.

Personally, It may lose our playerbase as loads of people have been waiting ages for the Easter Update and so on, I'm sure the Owners would gladly like to work around stuff to get to the best possible outcome, I'm sure it'll be out soon!

People, people, can a single person explain the benefit of running two communities which are based on the same gamemode? All you're doing is forcing the devs to work twice as hard when they can just focus on one server which will receive all the improvements and attention it needs. Might as well just open another Zarp SSRP server.

I don't see it releasing for a few more years personally.

The reasoning behind that is due to the precedent set by releasing an Update on ZARP each holiday. People expect updates now, and that leaves significantly much less time for the Reboot to be worked on. Not to mention there's a lot more work that needs to be done to FP excluding the coding for the server itself. The forums, the staff, rules, and more - all need to be added.

I agree this will take a lot more time, which is why I'm calling for a delay in updates. Zarp has been spoiled with them, and I think everyone would survive without for a little while. Were the reboot to release and the behind the scenes work is completed, I'm positive myself and any other remaining staff members that want to help out could handle reforming the staff team, looking over the rules, and administrating the server.
