TOPIC: The ZARP TTT Debate!

As many people have already said, Minecraft map = popular.
On top of that, it is also annoying as all heck to have to wait when the server changes map (I personally do not have this issue, because my internet is amazing, but I know that people like Luan with bad ping take ages to change level on other ZARP serversO

Like everyone says. The current TTT server won't change maps. The only way we could be changing maps on ZARP TTT is if they would add a new server.

If Zarp is doing 24/7 Minecraft, maybe we can add some other minecraft maps and not just the ttt_minecraft_b5. Doesn't have to be non-minefraft maps I guess...

I would love new maps as I played with multiple maps on ZARP on the TTT server a year ago but the truth is minecraft is so popular that its the only thing keeping it alive at this point. Its sad but true, and it'll probably never change again.

So, This is a good idea...But. And I must admit its a good one.

Changing the map will cause the server to be a ghost town, When I remade the map with massive amounts of bug fixes and a complete new redesign that went really well for christmas, But due to the name change it made the players who find the server by the map name caused us to lose so many people and it will make the server like bhop (not trying to say that server is dead, but its a very low standard for us here at zarp)

Now overall I think It would be a nice way to get old players back like myself as I left that server due to the fact that the map is very boring and very stand alone.

50% of people are getting this wrong! WE ARE NO CHANGING THE MAP WE ARE MAKING IT SWITCH BETWEEN 2 MAPS SO IT WILL BE MINECRAFT (2-3 HOURS LATER) SWITCHED TO DIFFERENT MAP (MAYBE ANOTHER MINECRAFT ONE)

We had the one Mix3rz made over Christmas (still a Minecraft map, just an edit), and it lost us a lot of popularity and made us have only about 12 players on at a time for a couple of months after. Changing the map causes the server to lose popularity, since the majority of people find the server based on the map ttt_minecraft_b5, and it is a map that people enjoy.
As I also said before, a lot of people have bad ping / bad internet, which can mean that they have a lot of waiting time if the map changes. Personally, if I went onto a server, after waiting ages on a bad connection just to get in and as I came on it happened to be about to change map and I was subjected to all the waiting again, I would just leave and find another server.

Minecraft is the most popular map that TTT players enjoy playing, which means that changing the server maps could cause a disaster for everyone, the players that only like the Minecraft map will not like the change and end up leaving, but, having the same map for a long period of time can get boring for some players and will also end up leaving, which leaves me here with 2 proposals:

First, you can do a small experiment and add ONE popular map that a lot of the TTT Playerbase are searching for, an example would be 67thway, or any highly searched map, and allow it a short period to be played on before map switch, this can be a risk tho, as some players might get agitated from this, if you don't have a loyal player base that is.

Or

A simple solution that might or might not work, add another TTT server with all that map, sure it might cost some to run it, but, if advertised properly and some players are starting to get bored, they can join and populate it, better than when you guys had 2 deathrun servers that were pretty much the same.

It's a risk either way, but who knows, maybe you can benefit from this risk, or not, you won't know till you actually do it.

I totally agree with the tought of adding another server.

I bet there are more people than me who'd rather play on a lesser populated server than the chaos 36 people in one single small server create during daytime.

You might say that this new server would be dead most of the time, but if you add a message on the main Minecraft server which notifies all the people on that server that there is another server which is not minecraft, then we would get some people from the main server to play on the new one. There clearly is a demand for non minecraft maps amongst us here since the poll is now in majority of adding new maps.

I love TTT, I could stay online for 8-10 hours per day back when I joined this server but it just gets tiring to play the same map still, I can barely be online for 2 hours now without wanting to play something else again. The minecraft server is what sparked my love for TTT, and I bet it is like this for many of us, it would be super fun with something fresh again to get that fire burning!
