TOPIC: The ZARP TTT Debate!

So TTT new maps is starting to become a big thing as you can see in This. So in this post today we will have a community discussion on a new TTT map to be added.

How will this work?

Many players on forums moan about the same boring map saying that some staff resign as it's just boring having the same thing over and over and it just starts to bore people a lot. This will work by me adding a poll and we will discuss whether we want a new map to be added to the TTT Game-Mode. If it gets decided to be added then the staff will choose a suitable map. (One that doesn't need CSS or any things downloaded from the workshop, but some you may need the workshop). The map will switch on a certain system. Every 2-3 Hours or so the map will switch over and the server will get an announcement when the map will change. If a round is going on and the Announcement comes on it will change map once the whole round has finished!

How would this help us?

Some different maps may bring other players back (Probably not) but many players of TTT may like a new map to be added, and would probably attract more players from the Garrys Mod fanbase seeing that it isnt going to be minecraft anymore. I believe it will bring players from ZARP to give TTT a bit more of a chance to get into the Game-Mode, thus making more players want to be in the Staff Team of TTT

The Poll / Voting System

A poll will be put up whether we want a new map added to TTT. Please do not abuse the poll System by creating ALTS and laying multiple votes into the system as it would ruin the probability of it being added. Please leave your opinions below on this!

The current server is not changing maps. it is not up for debate at the moment.

The TTT server will not be changing maps as it'll lose the playerbase.

As it stands the TTT server will not be changing or adding maps. A lot of people like the 24/7 minecraft formula and that's clearly seen when viewing statistics.

And yes, it has been proven that map changes cause a drop in players.

The bigger amount of playerbase on TTT is for the Minecraft 24/7 servers. Proof? ZARP TTT was dead, they made it Minecraft 24/7. Look at it now!

When it wasn't 24/7 Minecraft, the server was dead as fuck and I just had to resign back when I was a moderator because it was just pointless even maintaining the server with 10 minutes activity in 4 weeks. Now it's had a huge increase ever since the 24/7 Minecraft suggestion got accepted (I remember the meeting it was discussed on that very day) and I have been really pleased to seeing the server up rise to such a high GameTracker rank at this moment right now. Proof, you may ask?

Noticed the big difference? And even ever since 24/7 Minecraft was released, the game didn't release anything so major but just grew popularity so quick overtime.

The map will not change and there's no point trying to fight against it.

The current map is fine, it's got an outstanding response, we don't want to mess that up now would we?

Zarp sold TTT to Notch confirmed. He even gave every lead team member their own candy machine.

We changed the minecraft map to Mix3rz's edited one and we lost most of the players. Changing it again will kill the server.

The current server has a very good player base at the moment, with it near full/full at times. Changing maps could have impacts on the server which may take along time to fix and save it. As the others have said, the server was brought back with the introduction of 24/7 Minecraft thus no change should be taken at the moment.

As R-Flex also mentioned, we had a huge hit to the player base over the Christmas period.

The sad part is 24/7 minecraft has been denied so many times in the past.. turns out it was the solution to making the server WAY more popular. But now you want to ruin it.. nahhh....

Considering this thread is here I'd like to say a few things. Firstly the vast majority of the servers popularity is down to the current map. Most TTT players will search specifically for the minecraft map. This map is the main contributor to the servers popularity. If this map was removed it would have a detrimental effect on the population of the server. Changing that map would kill the server and be a stupid idea. After all the hard work that has been put into that server to remove that map would be an awful idea. Finally there are no other maps that even compete with minecraft in terms of popularity, so evidently it would have a negative effect on the server if it was to change map.

Anyways. Although i believe that 24/7 Minecraft gets boring after a month or 2, this is what saved the server. People apparently love this map and with the unique features Zarp has to offer, they fall in love with it. In my opinion it should stay as it is for now. Also this poll should not be removed. It would be nice to see other people's opinions about this topic. If this poll gets 90% Yes 10% No or something we will definitely discuss about adding more maps on TTT. But that's pretty much impossible imo...
