Massive thank you to Hamzah for his suggestion. It inspired me to make this idea

Suggestion Title:
Coins, achievements and a whole new shop

How would it benefit the server:
It'd make people more dedicated to the server because it gives them something to work up to while rewarding them too

Potential Issues/Exploits:
Hard work, probably, and I know that Grumpgrump and The Xnator are lazy bums

Additional notes:
OK, so this idea exists out of three different things:
  • Coins
  • Achievements that give you coins
  • A shop where you can buy things with coins
Coins Explained
Coins are gained by completing achievements and by putting them together using 10 silver coins. You can find silver coins throughout the map. How many there are on the map depends on how many users there are at the start of each round. There is around one coin for every six players. Once you have collected a total of 50 silver coins you cannot collect any more. There are only a finite amount of upgrades you can buy in the shop and thus a finite amount of coins to gather.

Achievements Explained
Achievements are a set of objectives that you can see in the F1 menu. Each achievement has three ranks: Easy, Medium and Hard. Completing any rank of any achievement gives you one coin. Here are a few examples of objectives:
  • Coin Collector: Collect 5 coins. - Collect 25 coins - Collect 50 coins
  • Prop Destroyer: Kill 15 props - Kill 75 props - Kill 150 props
  • The Earraper: Taunt 25 times - Taunt 200 times - Taunt 400 times
Note: If this suggestion gets accepted then I'll send some of my other objective ideas to Xnator or Grumpy

Shop Explained
At the shop you can spend your coins on upgrades. These upgrades will vary in cost and the final amount of upgrades and cost of those depends on the amount of achievements there will be in the end. After all, there is only a limited amount of coins. Here are some upgrade ideas:

  • Prop rotation lock - Lock your prop rotation! - Coin cost: 3
  • Speed boost - Press [button x] for a short speed boost of 4 secons! - Coin cost: 12
  • Grenades - Unlock the grenade to kill more props (but be aware of your health!) Coin cost: 5

The whole coin system is pointless. As for the shop there are 2 differnt things you could use EMP's man of the match addon which I am sure he would gladly give to the prop hunt owners or you could use the pointshop.

Care to elaborate? What I think you mean with "The whole coin system is useless" is the fact that Prophunt isn't the right gamemode for such a system, otherwise I'm not sure what you mean.

Having a secondary currency is bad. We want people to play all of the ps servers thats why they are all linked. Start adding currency specific to one server and you ruin the entire point completely.

What could be done could be to have a similar system to the one that Raeker has suggested, but using something such as EXP or Points as a currency.
What I was thinking could be a system where we increase the amount of points gained (maybe add points at the end of the round for some of the round end rewards) and then there could be a way to use points in order to get some in-game upgrades. Alternatively, we could do a system where you can use EXP for a similar thing, losing a certain amount of EXP or levels, but gaining an upgrade at the same time. I feel that this second idea would be pretty good, as it would give users who have managed to reach the top level (once that happens) an even further reason to keep playing and gaining EXP, though I see no real reason to add this until quite a few people have reached the top level.

In essence, I like the main basis of the idea though, as it would really add something more to make us stand out from the other servers, and give us even more that the other servers don't have (I say "further" because some new users were online yesterday saying that the server was really different to the others, and they found that pretty cool)

Or you know use pointshop points? The things you can get on all of the ps servers and if done correctly could draw players across all ps servers. Adding any other forum of currency is a bad idea at this point and maybe even any point. You instead do the smart thing by building ways incentivize players to not only play the server but spend the points they have earned accross all of our PS servers on it in the form of temporary upgrades. Or if you want to really stand out start thinking of items players could buy/also have to unlock(objectives) for things that they could only unlock on prophunt but it would be an item they would get globally. That way people have an other reason for playing that they could show off globally. The coolest part of the server is having shared inventories its why the severs for the most part do so well because there is an easier interchange. You should be imbracing that feature and trying to expand on it not shy away from it.
