The poll don't mean anything really either because people would vote yes for a new flat grass server just because its new.
I disagree with that. Do you remember the
Minecraft server suggestion ? That would be a new server aswell, but the poll was far worse than this one. It was 50% 50% with No slightly winning. We can trust the community. I am sure people don't just vote because a server is new.
There has been many cases of people getting hyped so they vote yes for something that wouldn't happen and seen has you said minecraft just look back on its history..... Hows minecraft doing now? If the story looks good people will be excited and vote for it no matter how bad of an idea it really is.
You'll see how the Minecraft server is doing soon
TM.
Polls are there just to give a
rough idea on what some members of the community would want. You can't base everything off the polls, but they can still tell you in some ways what the community would want, and if you would have people who would want to play on the server.
In order to create a good server, you can't just push forward some empty ideas and promises, you want to create what you want to push forwards first, and tell people what you
have created, not what you
will create. People make promises and it hypes people up, making them say that they want it, you have to base it off of the promises and whether the promises will actually be delivered. That is one of the reasons the last Minecraft server died, because of promises that were not fulfilled and a lack of updates (which is why I haven't said what I am currently working on for the Minecraft server, just said that I am working on something and that, if all goes well, it'll be something cool).
TL;DR:
Polls tell us a little bit, not everything. Promises can be made, what matters is the execution and whether they are delivered.
