TOPIC: Remove smoke

Which server is this suggestion for?: &1
What would you like to add?: an option when you press F4 that you can "Turn Off Smoke Effect" so the smoke will not come out of the gun, and either when you shoot something example a sofa.
How would it benefit the server/why do you want to add this?: there is many players who have shitty pc whic just can't handle smoke like me, when i shoot my fps falls to 6-3 and sometimes to 1.
Would it be exploitable, and if, how could we make it non-exploitable?

I think think this is programmable. It's hard coded into GMOD but if you google there might be some technical solutions for it. Just removing smoke will not be a solution as there are a thousand other draining processes within GMOD that drain your PC such as prop friction with ground.

im sure its smoke, i have readed about this on google and there is a solution, the server owner must make a button to turn it off, or fully turn it off

I Google'd a bit about this, and came across a replacement texture for the smoke. It worked fine, it allowed me to spam as much as I wanted without any FPS drops, but it also broke my Fading Doors. Whenever a Fading Door would open, the door itself would go to the default material instead of going invisible. (Gordon Freeman texture wall would show up as a default textured wall when open.)

BUMP, yes i used this, but its impossible to play without fading doors :F

If you want to hotfix your own client, do it. But not.mine.

I think there should be option to enable and disable the "smoke" - basically your idea, but not completely off.
