Server Name: Zarp Deathrun

Suggestion Title: The anti trap spam
How would it benefit the server: It will stop (Deaths) from spamming the traps and better experience for the player over all.

Potential Issues/Exploits: N/A

Additional notes:
Basically you can't activate the trap if players are not (nearby)
here is a link where i claim my trap (its auto claim which would be useful if its in progress by now):

How far do the runners need to be when activating buttons?

Lets say in the last picture, they have to be in the start of the hall (more or less)

the player doesnt need to be visible where deaths can see the runner

more details will go through and adjust it if needed

The only problem with this is that some maps the button is nowhere near the trap meaning that you cannot activate it

I think a possible way of this is to delay buttons pressed by a user based off how many are death, so that you have access to all buttons when only 1 death

This is very true, not to mention the buttons that don't require players to be in the trap/near it to be used. Like the maps with buttons that turn certian doors into death or make certian paths not have collisions(minecraft).

But over all pretty much what DEAD said. Every map will be different and inorder to cover them all without manually going through them all you would have to make the distance to generic to be worth it. You could go through and set every button on every map manually. But thats a fuck ton of work and the same reason we've never implemented the system I made years ago for giving deaths credit for the runners they kill. Nobody wanted to do it. :/

I wouldn't mind doing this. Couldn't quite get my head around how to do the death credit thing though. Wouldn't you have to add places where every trap is to check who killed them and who clicked that button.

Yes you would have to set up a box the covers the whole area of the tap where players can die and the link that box to the button id that triggers the trap. Then once a death uses a button you store trap they just actived and when a runner dies you check to see what box they died in. Then its easy to give credit to whomever it the button. This works other then the fact that every single trap for every single map has to be manually given a bounding box and linked to the button that activates it.
