According to the announcment items of value cannot be taken by ghosts, although my Magik case seemed to be :/

Was spinning the wheel, got the case, prefered not to open it and spinned more than the ghosts took it.

There is no way you are getting refunded for this i am afraid buddy. This is not a server bug. The ghosts are supposed to take whatever is in your inventory.
