Suggestion Title:
Remove the Mandatory use of 75 words on the moderator application

How would it benefit the server:
Does not pressure people to write more then they have to . Quality over quantity
Potential Issues/Exploits:
None.
Additional notes

So as i want to start this suggestion off with stating that the only reason i am putting this out here is because i got a fellow staff member recently asking me if he would get denied if he did not use the 75 words minimum This happened on Death run
I was a little shocked when he asked me because i thought it was never mandatory in the first place.
The reason i was confused is because on TTT you are required to write the minimum amount of words on the mod app but not on the admin app

I am a strong believer in quality over quantity and that you should not force someone to write a specific amount of words of why he or she should be promoted. It is a very normal thing that people are really bad about writing something positive about them selfs . I feel that it should be turned from mandatory to recommended.
BECAUSE our most popular server SSRP uses a recommendation and not a mandatory section for the amount of words needed.
The same goes for bhop at this moment they do not force you to write more then you want to.

I would like to become a moderator as I feel I could benefit the server with the amount of spare time I have. When I first joined, the staff were very friendly and helpful when I asked them questions. I have always enjoyed helping people and I feel that by applying to become a moderator would let me fulfil this desire. I would also like to gain experience and learn what it's like to be a staff member on a TTT server as I have not have the chance to do it before. Overall, it looks like an exciting opportunity and I feel someone who is active as I am would be a good addition to the staff team.

This is 119 words and only took me a couple of minutes to write. I have to agree with you that quality is better than quantity, but when it comes to apply for something, it's good to have a mix of both; you can give your reasons why you want to become a moderator on a personal level, but by having a decent amount of writing as a response, it shows in a physical form how determined you are.

I am going to disagree with this unfortunately.

then why is the admin section is recomended and the moderator one mandatory that makes no sense what so ever.

Thinking about it now, it does seem 'easier' to write a response to the admin application than it does for the moderator application. They should both be a recommended/mandatory amount. In my eyes the reason for it not being mandatory for Admin is because you've already wrote about how you're going to help the server and stuff as a moderator, writing the same thing as an admin would be pointless as you need to talk about why you need a promotion.

But everyone who becomes admin can normally write 75 words so I don't mind if there's another one for admin, would make sense too.

But I disagree about the moderator one, keep that there, it makes sure whoever is applying is determined, as uzi said.

A great suggestion, Most people dont have that much to say I mean There is only so much you can say for a Moderator application. 75 Words is Enough In my Opinion. Just copying my post from your other suggestion.

I really cannot see the problem in a measly 75 words, but that is also because I am used to writing and I am probably more intent on myself.

Anyhow I do not find this to be a problem, in most cases this last part is actually good to fill as it gives some individuality, the other questions are mostly answered the same way. Not like 100%, but it is not like the rules are different for every application.

If there is no individuality, is applications not going to become a place where thinking is not really neccessary. I can be wrong, most likely am, I have just always viewed the last part of an application to be one of the most important.

Especially since it is nice to read about people and their motivation.
(Few questions that are usually answered in that last paragraph)
- What makes me special?
- How can I help Zarp?
- What can I do to improve my own ability?
- Is my person fit to be on the staff team?
And many more.
Would you not inquire about such things?
Anyhow I stand at a neutral, I just wanted to give my perspective.

I can't argue with a dictionary.

This "mandatory" thing wasn't mandatory. No one cared if you gave less than 75 words in "Why Me". If the answers were acceptable and you acted like a real moderator in-game, you could've gotten the position even if you had like 50 words or less in that section.

But sure, if you want a few text changes, go ahead.
