TOPIC: The First Printer/The Prototype

Suggestion Title: The Prototype/The First Printer - A New Printer.

How would it benefit the server: This printer could be introduced in the upcoming Halloween or Christmas updates. It's a printer that uses old, obsolete items that have either no use or no beneficial use and uses them to add effects/boosts. For example, using the item Coal would immediately give the printer a massive boost in its output.
If you wanted to get really technical, you could make it so that the printer doesn't have a conventional "Upgrade" system, and instead relies on these old items to boost it and upgrade it.
To balance it out, it could be a printer with the efficiency of maybe just above or below GCP (GenCorp Core Printer) levels.
Perhaps during the same update, you could implement a standard item with no usage that could be used on the printers. That way, even players who don't have these older items would still be able to use the printer to some degree.
A list of effects these old items might have:
Coal - General boost on output, could potentially produce more sound as a consequence.
Rotten Carrot - The Printer sends out a shockwave for every time it's damaged, and could potentially kill raiders with minimal armour/health.
Keypad Cracker - If the Printer is stolen, it requires you to crack it in order to use it. Could be that the Printer only responds to the user who dropped it. (Maybe EMP unlocks it)
Diamond Keypad Cracker - If the Printer is stolen, it takes double the time to crack it and then sends out a beacon of some kind to the original owner that tells them the vicinity of where it is.
Lockpick - The Printer sends out a small radius echolocator that highlights if anyone is basing near you.
Diamond Lockpick - As above, but the radius is bigger, and even points out what kinds of entities they have.
Stone - Increases Printer durability.
Gold - Increases Printer output by a tiny amount (stacks up to five times, maybe like 1.1x, 1.2x, etc.) Lasts only briefly.
Ammo - The Printer is given a defence system that takes 15 HP off of the person that shoots/damages it.
Carrot/Melon - The Printer creates a very small field of health regen for a short time.
Molotov - Three of these put in succession means the Printer will explode in a devastating incendiary attack if used by someone other than the original owner.
Steel - Increases Printer durability.

These are just some suggestions for what the printer might be able to do. I tried to focus on things that the players don't actually use very much.
These printers could potentially increase the challenge in raiding, and make it more fun in trying to guess.

Potential Issues/Exploits: None that I can think of. Might be a tad OP.

Thank you for the sudden support, guys! I apologise if it comes across as OP, .exe, or however you think of it in a negative light. But I'm sure if they were to code something like this, it'd probably be a lot less OP/damaging than most think.

Feel free to drop any other feedback you guys have and I'll see if I can address it. I've spoken to Chute about this a while back and even he said it was a fairly decent idea. So, I imagine the coding isn't totally out the window.

I think this is a fantastic idea, but I don't really agree with the examples you gave. Some way of converting older items into newer, more useful ones, could be good.

Perhaps instead of a printer, it could be a recycler? After a certain 'value' of item is given into it, it will pop out with either a load of BP cases, weapon cases, or one case from the last 3 events? Hell, maybe you can recycle items from a particular event to get items from that event? Stick in a load of Gencorp Grenades, you might get a Scanmaster kind of thing. You wouldn't actively be generating new items, and it would be a lossy conversion, so it would also act as something of a money sink.
