TOPIC: Bloc 42 - Bring It Back

Suggestion Title:Bloc 42 Map

How would it benefit the server:
It is a nice map that was used before,It brings nostalgia back to the good old days of zarp.
It is better then these crappy maps we have now. It is a big map with a sewer system. Right now the mutants have no where to live which is why no one does mutant rp. On the old map the mutants had their own city underneath the main map. This was all pretty cool. Now mutants dont have any home, They have 1 corridor which is pointless. If it isnt added then i believe mutants will be on the decline of over 70%. In 2 years time 90%. The maps now are the most generic maps that every 12 yr old kid makes his new server with. So why not bring one of the favorites back. Replace server 2 or 3 with it.

there were multiple polls, after like 3 it got accepted and it was a mistake its not going to ever happen again

It's like saying "Bring back lag,because the lag we have now isn't enough"

We've had a lot of issues with this in the past that you weren't here for, i'll go through them below.

The Map - The Map itself was fun for what it was back in the day, but roleplay on the server is much more different than back then and it just wouldn't work out well.

The Design - The design of the map itself and how it was made is completely broken and no longer works.

Basing - Basing would be fun for maybe a huge district base, but for players that aren't doing that explosives weapons would prove to be completely broken and irritable for the players.

Exploits - In the mines, if you spawn a prop down the server instantly crashes.

Lighting - The Textures/Lighting are all off and messed up to the point where we'd need to completely re-do the map.

In laymen's terms, we will never have bloc42 again as we've tried in the past and it was an utter disaster with players and staff complaining every day wanting a new map vote.

The only way bloc42 would work is if the server still ran the way it did back then. Without the explosive weapons and all the other changes that have taken place over time. Like morgan said trying to bring it back now with the current state would be and has proven to be a disaster.

EMP is working on the Server 2 map and has already done a revamp of the Server 1 map, so these two servers won't be the same "generic map every 12 year old uses" but rather custom to ZARP. If you have any ideas for the Server 2 map EMP is looking for some suggestions.

Bloc42 should never come back. People don't like it and it will never be popular.

This is an absolutely ridiculous idea, the map is completely broken and it doesn't work as a map. We have seen what the map has done to server 2 before. It is very buggy and poorly optimized, the server used to crash all the time and made playing on the server without lag nigh on impossible. People at the time didn't realize that the map is a broken map and that it doesn't function correctly and It seems like you don't know either. In my opinion this would be the worst thing that someone could do to server 2 and would make the server completely dead.

So to clear up some points here..

The Suggestion to bring back bloc42 continuously comes back.
The map is not configured for the amount of players zarp has by now, the explosives that exist & the new items in general.

It's mostly the veteran players that wish to see the map again without the new explosives.
The Dev's could launch a new DarkRP Server seperated from the others ( means no character transfer/money/Items )

• Everyone starts from the scratch
• Point 1 leads to Economy reset for everyone
• No other explosives besides C4 & Milkor
• Lower Player cap to reduce lag and prevent crashes

This would most likely not be profitable for the developers, this would only serve the "old" players to have fun and swim in nostalgia.

It would require a Strawpoll to figure out if It's worth it to put that much work into launching a new Server with all the options and changes that have to be made.
