Over 10 helicopters flew over my house like 10 mins ago. And the military coup has offically been announced. From all the tv channels.

Tbh i've not heard much about whats happening can anyone fill me in? I've been sick living under a rock for the past days

A military coup is never good, this stuff sparks civil wars and causes massive issues for not just the nation itself but other nations too.

Basically to explain guy from what i am learning and understanding of this sitting at my gate in orlando airport is
.Erdogan(President) was erroding parts of the constitution and the secular state formed by Ataturk(Founder of turkey)
.The Military apparently have a sort of duty to protect this and have ousted similar goverments before
.Erdogan has been an incredibly Authoritarian President banning youtube and other social media many times during his time in power


Just to end this i hope that after this there is an election in turkey for a new president

The situation is really complicated. Some say its a terror situation. Militaries helicopters has been attacking to the mit (its something like cia in turkey) and some f-16 warplanes has attacked to that heli. Which means military has attacked military. The lockdown and coup seems like its not including the whole army. No one avutally can understand what is going on at the moment.

Ok so let me get this clear guys, this wasn't a pure military coup. The press has said the old military coups has been made with atleast %80 of the military. But last night was only %4 of military. Happily they are in custody now. I was so happy that erdogan was being taken down.. The thing is that %4 was seduced by the terrorists. We have over 160 dead civillian and soldier. We have over 600 wounded civillian and soldier. But I do not believe this is done here though
