I'm having a bug since the update where i cannot play gmod, when i start it up it is just a plain blue screen, nothing to click or type in, I can open console but thats it.

You should, 1) verify the game cash
2) Reinstall the game
3) If the above dont work, reinstall steam
4) if none of the above work try searching for a solution on
