⭐ Murder Update of June 2021 ⭐

We are proud to announce the first official Murder update since 2017! Joshua, the Community Team, the Murder Lead Team, and I have put a lot of time and effort into designing this update - Coming up with these new features was no easy task. We tried and did our best and we truly hope you guys enjoy what we have to offer this time around! So make sure you join us for the release of our first and major Murder server update on 27/06/2021 @ 5:00 PM GMT!

BRAND NEW HIDING FEATURE!

Starting now, you are able to hide in a vast amount of props by approaching them and simply pressing "E". The props you are able to hide in are mostly CSS props which are large enough to store a whole human body inside. Only 1 person can hide in any prop, regardless of size. There is no time as to how long you can hide in a prop, however, every 30 seconds a loud, yet random noise will be generated and will attract the attention of the Murderer, so you might not be as safe as you think!

Just to clarify, due to the nature of some maps and the way in which they were developed, you won't be able to use the hiding feature on them, for example, the most popular map, "mu_springbreak_zarp" will not feature the hiding ability.

THIRD PERSON!

You asked for it, now here it is! The third-person view has been a feature that has been getting suggested on numerous occasions. After a long discussion and many disputes, and a shit-ton of bug fixes, we have finally decided to add it - The feature is now officially live on the server and is functioning accordingly! We hope you guys enjoy this new addition which you have requested so so much!

NEW MURDER HUD!

A huge thank you to codabro for designing the new Murder HUD! He has put a lot of effort into designing it to fin into the gamemode. The HUD features a timer, the exact amount of HP, the long-requested XP bar, your in-game name, the amount of loot, and the HUD adjusts its colour depending on the bystander player colour. If you are not fond of the new HUD, we have implemented a feature on the F1 menu which allows you to revert to the old one, but we doubt you'll want to use that.

NEW POWER ROUNDS!

Joshua and I have been all ears for all of your suggestions, and especially Power Rounds - We went around and talked to people, and after collecting opinions we have went ahead and implemented new ones. We truly believe that some of these will appeal to all of you.

"Double Trouble" - There are two murderers on the loose, take caution!
"FFA Flying Reapers" - Everyone gets an RPG for rocket jumping and a knife to kill the rest! The last one standing wins!

RE-WORKED Q MENU!

We'd like to present to you the re-worked version of the Q menu - You can now look at other players, press Q and call them out for being Murderers or just state that you can "See them!". The new Q menu has a unique yet simplistic and slick design.

AMBIENT MUSIC!

In order to further enhance the gameplay experience on Murder, we have decided to add a cool new feature which is ambient music! Starting now, you will be able to hear background music whilst playing, regardless of your in-game role (bystander, murderer, sheriff) - We have mainly gone for music that we feel would be the most suitable for Murder. You will be able to listen to jazz, creepy music, horror sounds, etc - The songs will be played completely arbitrarily.

Should you not want to have this feature enabled, you can adjust the volume via the F1 menu > Settings.

NEW SETTINGS WITHIN THE F1 MENU!

We have decided to add a few new settings features within the F1 system which allows you to enable/disable certain features - Should you not like them, of course. The new settings we have added are the following:

Webtaunt Volume - Adjust the volume of webtaunts that get played!
Toggle Murder HUD - Swap between the new and old version of the HUD!
Music Volume - Adjust the volume of the ambient/background music!
Customise Crosshair - Opens the crosshair customisation menu!

AND MUCH MUCH MORE COMING SOON!

Keep an eye out on the forums for more new upcoming features throughout the following week, there is so much more you are yet to see and we are very much sure you are going to like it! We hope you guys enjoy our first (and major) Murder server update! A lot of effort was put into making all of this a reality! We hope to see you guys on the server!
