TOPIC: Possible fixes for the economy.

Possible fixes for the economy. 7 years 6 months ago #420940

So basically there are a few small tweaks which will probably make very big differences in the current flow of inflation. The goal is to get rid of money and make it harder to generate great amounts. (Trading does NOT cause inflation; the money is already there. Spinning a wheel 300 times and getting 100 mil of it however is.)

First of all I'd suggest fixing the printer booster upgrades. Right now, there are only a few people who own one. Everyone else borrows the upgrades from the original owners and give it back afterwards, allowing them to double their income without getting rid of any of their money. Make it so that the boost is lost upon trading it back. This will force people into getting their own. People will start making them, removing 100 million from the game everytime they do.

Potential problems; could cause bugs (people who boost their nuclear printer with an actual boost and not the upgrade, then trading to get the upgrade and then trading it back again which COULD, if not properly coded, remove the original boost from their nuclear printer aswell)

Secondly, I'd suggest to stop spinning wheels from making money. Items etc. are fine, but not money. I know that you can only get up to like 2 million at a time, but in the long time it all adds up.

No potential issues.

Then third of all, and people will dislike this, lower the amount of gems one gets from converting ruby's. People have began AFK mining for Halloween months ahead, allowing them to generate 10's of millions of gems. These gems will be used to spin the wheel, adding small amounts of money into the game everytime the wheel is spin.

No potential issues but would most likely piss people off.

Stop with the OP printers already. People may think of them as bad, since they "cost 30 million". However, 30 million is not their true value. Their true value is undetermined, since they are not purchased into the game. People get them from gems (which they get for free), or bank raids (which they get for free). If someone places down a GPP and it gets destroyed after it has made 20 mil, people see it as a loss. However, they did add another 20 mil into the game.

Let me hear your thoughts, but in my opinion these are all relatively easy fixes to atleast slow down the current rate of inflation.

Yours sincerely,
BremFM

:minussp: Because the economy isn't broken, it's just an excuse to RDM/place hits on miners. If the economy was actually broken then everybody would've left by now. Everything will go back to normal when the event is over. Remember, this game/community is centered around fun, roleplay and balance.

the problem is there is too much cash int he economy and no where to put it think about when money is made where it goes, pretty much to other players 90% of the time and bounces around. we need a solid money sink something for players to keep putting cash into I belive all we have now is upgrades and cars are the only thing in which the server takes your money from you besides that its just trading with other players from what I understand.

i suggest expensive cosmetics

I couldn't take your seriously after you included a "meme"

7 people out of 100'(S) of thousands of people only have more than a billion and I think its well earned for the amount of time they have spent on the server. Next weeks post will be about how its to hard to get the items its a no win area when it comes to money someone will always be upset either way it goes. There is nothing wrong with it now an besides a lot of people working for hours and hours to get what they want we do get a lot of players that don't have anything but we also have a lot of dedicated members that are here so it just looks like everyones got everything.

I agree pretty stupid how people don't think sometimes because prices of items go up so it balances out anyways

People make tons of money during updates. It may seem as if nothing is wrong because nearly everyone makes tons of cash, but this makes it nearly impossible for people who have just begun to keep up with the also-increasing-prizes of items, since they don't have the advantage of the update.

0ctocat's a good idea aswell.

I'm not suggesting this "because I'm mad mad that I'm poor or whatever", I also made like 300 mil off the update, but it doesn't feel as if I worked hard enough for it. 2 years ago, when I played, a million was a LOT. Having 10 million made your literally rich. Nowadays a mil is something you can find on the streets (not really, but you get what I mean)

Yeah, but the money did not "vanish", it mostly went to other players. It still circulates in the economy.

Why does everyone keep saying that is isn't broken? It may not too broken but it certainly is and if we simply ignore it, soon it will be entirely broken and screwed.
