Hello, I'm Markus.
Many of you already know who I am and what I do, but since I am applying for head admin, I decided to tell you about myself.
I am 19 years old, I have been playing zarp since I was about 12. I studied for 3 years in computer sciences, cyber security and system support. I've always enjoyed spending my time around technology, so naturally I would find my way onto playing games on a pc. That's when I came across ZARP. You could say I have grown up here. Many friends have come and gone on these servers. And yet, here I am still playing it. This is because I truthfully love this server and its community, I wish to see it succeed and take off massively again.
Over my many years here I have been a staff member multiple times, but this time, I feel it is right to ascend up the ranks even further. That is why I am applying for head admin.
Why I should become an SSRP Head Administrator.
On the surface this is a very easy question, one could just say that it is the natural progression of being in the SSRP staff team. They would be right. Naturally as a superadmin, the next step up for me would be to become a head administrator, but originally I never planned for this, I had planned to stop my ascension at where I am now. A superadmin, however recently It has become clear that I want more from being a staff member, I want to help out more around the community as a whole. I want a bigger part of the administrative duties. The forums, discord, even longer participation in the meetings. Simply, I want to take on a larger role than previously thought for myself.
Although being a superadmin was much more enjoyable than being an administrator, I still feel there is more I can do. I am finally able to assist properly in the catching of cheaters, scripters and general scumbags. However I can still do more.
I am able to train staff members, to ensure quality and fair treatment on the servers, but I can always improve and raise my standards. Being a head administrator is the path I have decided on, and being a head administrator I will be able to do more to help in the training of staff, the management of the staff team, and the general health of the server.
I like to consider myself fair. I fairly punish those who would break rules, and fairly treat my staff team with honest and true feedback. Whether a staff member is abusing their powers, knowing fully or not, I will always give them the benefit of the doubt and a second chance. This is fair.
On the other hand, when I am required, I will be brutally honest and just in my decisions. If you take it too far, or betray my trust in you, I will ensure that an adequate punishment is received.
As a superadmin, there were a few instances where a staff member may have not been doing the correct thing, their attitude was rough and they didn't see the flaw in their decision, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. A second chance if you will. I explained to them what they had done wrong, how they could go about fixing it and other good advice for a new staff member.
They did not take this advice to heart. They continued about their ways, certain they were correct. So I did what was necessary. I brought them up in the lead team meeting. The outcome? Irrelevant. The point is, I was fair and just. They got their chance to prove me wrong and did not succeed. This short recount of one of my many experiences shows exactly what I have been saying. This, is one of the reasons I should become a head administrator.
As a head administrator I want to sculpt a fair and unbiased staff team. I want to weed out those who would see our servers empty with their prejudiced views. I feel I will better be able to accomplish this with a promotion from Superadmin to Head Administrator. I wish to join the ranks of the head administrators to assist in this search, for the betterment of the server.
I wish to better be included in any activities that may be required of me, and be a better assistance to the CM team and their goals. I feel that I can help in this by providing a fresh opinion on things, an opinion that may have been lost and muddied in recent years.
Whether I am in a teamspeak channel, in a meeting or just hanging out in a discord channel, I believe I always give my honest response to questions, applicants, rule changes and anything else that I need to speak on. I believe I always speak my mind, even if others would oppose it. This is one of the things I highly respect those like Xnator for. They speak their mind, they will stand by they're decisions and stick with it no matter what. I am also like this.
I believe in standing by your beliefs, arguing for you decisions and always truthfully speaking your mind.
As I see it, zarp is on the brink of one of two things. A great resurgence, an event where zarp will once again climb the server rankings, see a fresh new player base and community arise. Or a flatline. Where zarp will finally come to rest, empty.
I am here to help it recover and succeed. I am here to help, in my way. That of managing a fair and just staff team. I believe I am capable of this.
I apologise if this application comes of as rambly. I was speaking from the heart for the bulk of it. I hope many of you agree with the statements in here.
